Carol Quiz



Now the festive season is near, everywhere you go people

are humming, whistling or, even singing Christmas carols.

But how quickly do you recognise the tune? Here's your

chance to find out. After an elaborate animated and enter-

taining title sequence (during which numerous variables are

set, so don't try to miss it out!) the machine will play a

carol, using its much maligned but quite effective BEEP.

All you have to is recognise the tune and press the appro-

priate key. Easy? Not a lot! Here's the catch. The tune

won't start playing at the beginning!

   Low scores are best as the longer you take, the more

penalties you collect. But don't make a mistake - that's an

extra 15 points.

   [The instructions to typing in Carol Quiz told you to

type in the data for the user defined graphics from "Table

A". Unfortunately, that table seems to have gone missing.

I have borrowed the UDGs from the "Christmas Card" program

published in ZX Computing the year before. These seemed to

fit perfectly - all I needed to do was supply a few missing

ones. Two more "diagonals" for the title screen were quite

obvious. This left the top and bottom edge on the score

screen; these I have crufted together myself, and are

therefore not original to the program as published.]
