Club Record Controller - Sinclair Research General Description This program enables you to holf details about your club members. It lets you:- - Keep the details up to date - Examine the details held - Print the details and - List the names of your club members. Information held - Name (20 characters maximum) - Address (up to 5 lines each with a maximum of 20 characters) - Telephone number (20 characters) - Up to nine lots of information of your choice (each up to 12 characters) eg type of membership, subscription paid. There is an overall limit of 70 characters for name and address (excluding trailing spaces) Using the program NB: Once you have loaded this program, it will tell you at each stage what to do or the choices open to you. You are advised to read through this description before you first load this program - so you have the entire picture in your mind. Use of the program falls into 2 categories: A First time: You tell the computer how you want your file organised. B Thereafter: You enter peoples details and use any of the modes of operation. First time The first time you load this program, your Spectrum will ask you to give it certain pieces of information. In addition to name, address and telephone number you can hold up to nine further items of information about each member. (NB: The more space used for these extra details, the fewer records can be held) You will be asked first how many fields you want. You will then be asked to name them, one at a time, each with a maximum of fifteen characters. EG Membership No., Date Subs Due. You will be asked for the length of each field (maximum 12 characters) Finally, you will be asked for the sequence to be used for filing records away - whether by members' names or by one of your optional fields (EG Membership No.). This field is used to reference each record. You have now completed all the preliminary work. You can now enter details of the first members name (see below). To complete this first run of the program we suggest you enter various members' details and then SAVE your file. From now on From now on you can use this program in the following modes. Note: to select the press the number only (ie not ENTER). 1. Enter member's details You will be asked first for the member's reference. When the computer tells you, enter one at a time. -name -address line 1 -address line 2 -address line 3 -- -address line 4 | - Press enter if you don't want these. -address line 5 __| -telephone number -each of your special items of information. Each member's reference must be unique. 2. Amend member's details Identify the member whose record is to be changed. The member's details will be displayed with each line identified. Say which line you want to amend and then enter the entire line. The reference line may not be amended. 3. Delete member's details This enables you to get rid of all the information held by the computer for; - a member you specify - all members - all members for which a condition you holds (eg all members with NO in your optional field SUBS PAID). 4. List members' names This lists on your television screen the names of everyone held on the file together with their reference (if other than members name) 5. Display details about a member All the information held on the file about this person is displayed. To display full details of all members one after the other, use DELETE ALL MEMBERS and press N each time. 6. Print details This mode is used to print full details or just names and addresses for; - everyone on your file - individuals whom you identify - selected members For selective print, you specify on which information the printing is to be based (eg SUBS PAID) and the value held in that field (eg NO) 7. Save file Save your file by recording it onto a cassette tape. You should do this before switching off your computer, whenever you have made any alterations to your records (otherwise you will not have a copy of your latest amendments). Note: Each recording is given a different version number. You should write this information away (eg in your diary). When you next use the program, check you have loaded the correct (ie most up to date) version. We suggest that you record odd numbered versions (1,3,5 etc) on one side of your tape, and use the other side for the even numbered versions (0,2,4 etc). The program supplied to you is version 0. The tape is long enough to hold your file with all records present. Note: if you wish to take advantage of the Spectrum's VERIFY facility then: - use mode 8 to Stop - type LET W=W+1 (press ENTER) - save the program yourself with SAVE "C" LINE 1000 - VERIFY "" - Restart the program if you wish by GOTO 1000 8.
