more to this job than stealing secrets from a safe.  Then a broad said "Chuck they

know what ya doing and they're out to get ya".  She meant the mob and they

would do anything to stop the secrets from getting out and only I knew where

the safe was.  I'm a marked man, but with gun in hand if only I could get through

Dagger Alley then just maybe:  I'll stand a chance....

I'm a marked man, but with gun in hand if

only I could get through Dagger Alley then

just maybe I'll stand a chance...



The Detective is a fast moving Arcade type

game where you have to avoid many obstacles

along the way to survive, and eventually open

the safe but the game gets harder as you get

better and very few will ever make it to the 

final level.  Where you have only 10 guesses

at the combination (a number between 1000

and 9999).  The action is fast to say the least.

High score feature, continual analysis of

results and good use of colour should make

this a sound investment.



There are four specific phases in this game.

After the various falling objects you come

into the helicopter and aeroplane section

then at level 20 you enter Dagger Alley,

finally if you make it through Dagger

Allen then you have to open a safe.



HINTS:

Dog steals all your points

Old tyres crush you and you cannot shoot

them.

Bonus life every three levels, up to level 9.

Watch out for a laser

Wrap around screen

On level 25, open safe with aid of a special

gauge which tells you how close you are to

the combination.



LOADING INSTRUCTIONS

Ensure tape is completely rewound.

Connect ear socket on recorder to ear socket

on computer.

Type in Load "" (this is done by first pressing

the "J" key and then to get speach marks

hold the symbol shift key down and at the

same time press the letter "P" twice)

Set vol to about 1/2 way.

Set tone to max.

Press "ENTER" then wait.

If unsuccessful try again with different

volume setting.



INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PLAY

Cursor keys move man left and righ 0 fires,

but if you check other keys on the keyboard

you will find all outermost keys in each row

fires gun.

H,T,G,B,N,Y,V all move man left

I,K,M,X,D,E,3 move man right.
