Once the program has loaded type in the per- sonal details required unless you have used the program before and have set up a diet file on cassette. The program will respond with your ideal weight and your daily maintenance calorie allowance. The program will then give you a series of options that will allow you to work out your daily diet calorie allowance and the length of the diet you will need to reduce to your desired weight. 1) WEIGHT CALCULATION If you have choosen a diet with a certain num- ber of calories this option will calculate your weight at weekly intervals until the time when you would reach your ideal weight. 2) DIET DURATION By entering your daily diet calorie allowance and your desired weight the computer will tell you how long you need to stay on the diet for. 3) DIET CALCULATION By entering your desired weight and the diet duration the computer will give you the daily diet calorie allowance. 4) OPTIMAL DIET PLAN From your daily diet calorie allowance this will work out several diet plans telling you the amount of certain types of food you may eat. 5) DIET CONTROL Use this option once you've actually started on the diet. It will calculate the number of calories you have eaten on a particular day and so tell you if you are keeping to the diet. 6) FOOD GROUPS This is a file giving details of calorie content on many different foods. Each page may be copied to the ZX Printer. 7) PERSONAL DETAILS To use the program efficiently: Initially use options 1,2 and 3 to choose the calorie allowance and the diet duration to get to the weight you want. Option 4 will then suggest some diet plans and using option 6 about foods groups you can choose the one (or more) of what you like best. Once you are on the diet use option 5 everyday to keep a record of how many calories you've eaten on cassette. Good luck and be honest! TECHNICAL TERMS Daily Maintenance Calorie Allowance: this is the number of calories you may eat daily to maintain your present weight. Daily Diet Calorie Allowance: this is the num- ber of calories you may eat daily whilst on your diet. Obviously this should be less than the Daily maintenance calorie allowance.
