1. INTRODUCTION You will be flown in to an old landing-strip that once served a gold mine which has long since been abandonded. The aircraft will return to collect you but can only wait a few days so you must be back at the airfield on time if you are to survive. You will travel through many locations in the valley and encounter various objects sine if which will be of no help and others will serve more than one purpose. You can examine these objects but can only carry so much at a time depending on the size and weight of the different items. It is hoped that you will find many hours of enjoyment in the finding and recovery of the idol and also the solving of difficulties along the way. Fame and fortune await you if you are successful! - GOOD LUCK! 2. SAVING INSTRUCTIONS As the adventure will take some time to complete you can SAVE your present game situation on tape and re-load it at a later date. Certain areas of the valley will change with each new game but the map of the SAVEd game will remain the same on re-loading. Travel through the valley can always be in any of the eight standard compass directions: NORTH, NORTHEAST, EAST etc. as well as UP and DOWN unless there is some natural obstacle i.e. you will never find yourself in any location and unable to go in a particular direction without reason and the barrier will always be apparent. 3. VOCABULARY The following is a list of the most common words you can use in THE GOLDEN COBRA but you need not restrict yourself to this vocabulary by any means. It is not intended that you should struggle to find the "correct" mode of expression to achieve a result - the problems encountered in THE GOLDEN COBRA are difficult enough to solve without unnecessary aggravation. However, although the aim is to be as user-friendly as possible you will on occasion find yourself not understood and you will have to re-phrase your instruction. CLIMB.........
