JSW EDITOR ---------- (*This software requires the user to possess an original copy of Jet Set Willy*) Type LOAD "" then press play Once the editor has loaded, rewind Jet Set Willy to start and press play. The Editor will give you access to 63 screens which can be used when the 'edited game' is run. The extra screens have never been used in the original game. When the Editor has loaded, the extra screens will not exists, so they must be created and saved to tape, so that when a complete game is created the three extra screens can then be loaded in to their correct location and the 63 screen game can be saved in its entirity. To map the game you must check all the exits and note them down. A screen dump to ZX Printer (Press '9' on main menu then 'C' to copy) will be a great help to mapping. When editing individual screens always check the X and Y coordinates of exit paths and screen exits so that you will enter the next screen safely when playing the game. The aliens or sprites can be transferred from one screen to another by selecting Key 'S' from the main menu then pressing Key '2' from the sub menu. Once transfer is completed then go to Edit Screen and Press CAPS 9 to check sprite paths will not collide with anything. As screens 47, 61 and 62 are to be loaded at the end of editing session then you can use them as 3 buffer screens to run some trial design screens. To RUN an edited game first prepare a blank tape by saving a basic loader---- 10 SAVE "jsw edited" LINE 20 20 CLEAR 32767 30 LOAD "" CODE: PRINT USR 33792 Then type RUN and ENTER and save this program to tape. Immediately after this program save the edited game on the same tape, then to load the edited game Type LOAD "" and ENTER and press play. The game will then auto run.
