RULES The object of the game is to capture all the opponents pieces or to render him moveless. The game is played on the dark coloured squares only. 1. The person who has the black pieces moves first. 2. Pieces may be moved one square per move (unless jumping) on any forward diagonal. 3. When a piece reaches the opponents first rank it is immediately promoted to a king. 4. Kings can move one square per move (unless jumping) in any diagonal direction. 5. If it is possible to jump one of the opponents pieces then you must jump. If it is possible to make another jump with the same piece then you must continue to jump until no more jumps are possible. INSTRUCTIONS Important - Please reset machine before loading. To run type LOAD "" CODE. SELECT PLAYING LEVEL - Select any level between 0 and 9 (0 = easy, 9 = difficult). To change the playing level during the course of a game press the "L" key on any of your moves. The level number (top left) will flash, select the required level and continue your move. DO YOU WANT THE FIRST MOVE - press the "Y" key for yes or the "N" key for no. Black always moves first. TO ENTER A MOVE - First enter the square you wish to move from i.e. A3. Next enter the square you wish to move to i.e. B4 then press the "enter" key. If a jump is possible you MUST jump. If there is a double jump, each jump must be entered separately e.g. A3 - C5 then press "enter" key C5 - A7 then press "enter" key. To delete press the 0 key. TO START A NEW GAME - Press the "break" key. TO ALTER THE POSITION - Before starting your move or after pressing the 0 key press the "P" key and the bottom left hand square will flash (A1). Use the "9" key to select the piece or empty square required and the "0" key to move on to the next square. When you have altered the required squares hold down the "0" key until the cursor moves off the board (top right) and continue your move. TO CHANGE SIDES - Before starting your move or after pressing the "0" key, press the "O" key. The position will be reversed and the computer will then move. If you press the "O" key on every human turn the computer will actually play against itself. This option can also be used if you cannot find a move. By pressing the "O" key the computer will take up your position and make a move. By again pressing the "O" key the computer will take up its previous position and continue with its next move.
