Why I Hate PC World

I detest PC World for the following reasons:

1. Repeatedly poor service.
2. Selling me a 1Gb SD memory card for ?60, when I could have bought it for ?30-odd.

That's it really.

My first experience of poor service with PC World should have driven me off for good. It was about two years ago and I was going to buy a copy of Timesplitters for PS2. I go up to the counter with the empty game box and hand it over. The gormless, pimply fellow behind the counter then looks for the keys to the safe room where they store all the game discs. He can't find it. He goes to find somebody that has the key, or knows where it is. This takes about ten minutes.

When he eventually DOES find the key, he disappears into the game room for another ten to fifteen minutes, before coming out and apologising for the delay - explaining that all of the game discs are completely disorganised and it's difficult to find the game I am looking for. He tells me he will have another look and see if he can find it, then returns to the room.

After another fifteen minutes of this complete and utters farce, he re-emerges to hand me the box with a Timesplitters 2 disc in it.

Now, this is the part where any smart person would simply nod, pay the ?10 for Timesplitters disc and go home with the Timesplitters 2 disc (which, at the time, was worth around ?30, since it was only out) with a great big smile on his face.

Unfortunately, I am cursed with honesty.

I pointed out that he had given me the wrong disc. He looked slightly surprised, then nodded and returned once more to the infernal game room.

After ANOTHER FIFTEEN MINUTES, the guy emerges once more. By this time I've been waiting patiently for almost an hour on this one game and can almost feel the steam coming out of my ears.

He tells me that he can't find it.

I find it difficult to describe just how completely raging I am by now.

So I go home with an hour of my life wasted, waiting on some gormless idiot, with nothing to show for it.

Since then I've been in on other occasions when it's been difficult to even find a member of staff who could serve me, and just this week I bought a 1Gb SD memory card for my Palm that I have since discovered I could purchase at least ?20 cheaper online.

PC World - stay clear. You have been warned.
I know a lot of you here have and enjoy HL2 and that some of you also have 64-bit processors like myself, so this is gonna be very intersting to see in action I think (especially as Far Cry 64 was a massive improvement, and these guys are WAAAY beyond them).

I forgot to say in the graph card manual it says the card needs AGP 2.0 or 3.0 compliant slot or better, i can't find any mention of volts.

Our government are **** ******s. They will always be that way.I dont think there is ever any way that we will get equal rights and justice in this place.Every day they make new laws which constict our freedoms, taking more control of us like we are animals. Baaaaaah

There is a current attitude of disbelief on all things that are deemed to be 'conspiracy theories' as so many are available but the truth is hidden within that pile of crap is a truth that would probably shock most. When I finally find out what on earth is going on, I'll let you know ;)

This I do know, our Blair is a fake.A good fake, I'll give him that. Its that his hand is forced or he's got his own agenda.

Example. Fox Hunting

Personally I would not go out of my way to see a fox get shredded by dogs. Its pretty sad all round but for them its a jolly good day out.
Blair makes a big do about stopping a few screwed to the wall toffs and country folk stop this activity and he pleases a lot of the population, it makes him look like a good guy.He gains popularity with the masses of voters and displeases a few.

Nothing has changed though.Foxes still get 'deaded', just the same, same number of em die(maybe more now by 12 bore, big consolation to the fox and his family haha)Nothing has changed. But it makes the people happier? Big Wooo's.

I await my ID card. I will be a good citizen. I will be a good citizen.

Dutch company Gatsometer BV, founded by the 1950s rally driver Maurice Gatsonides, invented the first road-rule enforcement cameras. Gatsonides wished to better monitor his speed around the corners of a race track and came up with the device in order to improve his time around the circuit [1]. The company developed the first radar for use with road traffic, and is the world's largest supplier of speed camera systems. Because of this, in some countries speed cameras are sometimes referred to as "Gatsos". They are also sometimes referred to as "photo radar", even though many of them do not use radar.
He said "I'm from Safe Style U.K"

so I said please stop calling here, meaning Safe Style U.K - as their bods have annoyed me about 6 times this year.

He got all arsey, and said in a saracstic and aggresive manner, which I can't convey in written text "I've never called here before mate"

So, I said well, please don't call here again, and shut the door.

He then shouted in a very loud voice "Alright mate, thanks, have a great evening, byeeeeeeeeeeee" and then remarked to his equally chav mate, that I was a tosser.

So, I opened the door again, and whistled for my dog ((who will bark like mad on a certain whistle)) and asked him to repeat himself.

He then swore at me, and walked quickly away.

Arsehole. I hate all these door knockers, and cold callers, I've tried putting up a sign telling them to go away, it doesn't deter them.

I already have double glazing, and if, for example, I wanted a new front door, I'd go and buy one. I wouldn't wait in until some kid with limited social skills called round and sold me one.

I think I shall buy one of those little doorbaell cameras, so that I can see if it's worth actaully opening the door.

Dunno why, but the only time I've ever actually played board games with a substantial number of people is at Xmas.

It's like some unwritten rule at family get togethers, someone has to buy a new board game and we have to try it out.

Usually they're pretty boring, or one person takes it too seriously and ends up winning all the time. Cluedo and Monopoly are very overrated.

Bit far fetched perhaps, but has anyone here ever set up a counterstrike session amongst WOS'ers?
Perhaps even where the Counterterrorists have Clives face on them and the terrorists faces have "whoever invented C64"?
grenades resemble speccys and of course C64 grenades are just a bunch of smoke?

I've seen some .swf (or whatever they are) animations before, though Hey Hey 16K is by far the best. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a WWW site or archive of humorous ones, that anyone knew about?
Thanks for any answers.

Whats the difference between the 2?

As I'm not from the UK, as far as I can tell from searching www about chavs, they seem "innocent", I mean without any real violence and such?
Or am I wrong?

What are people/politics doing to 'combat' chavisism?

Lots of questions, hope theres someone here kind enough to give a good read/info and oh yeah, excluding Mel the Bel's -
"Chavs are my pals" ominent reply :p
