Guys,

I can't remember the name of a game that was similar to a chess game (not Battle Chess i think). I mean you play it on a board, have a team of four or five monsters, you play against another person and you have to answer questions so your monsters can grow stronger (i think 4 levels) changing the form like a demon, a devil, etc., and then, if you are face to face with your opponent, you have to answer a question to see who's the winner. If you miss the answer your monster goes back a level and viceversa. I think you can choose the topic of the questions too. Do any of you know what game i am talking about and could tell me its name?

Thanks in advance,

Hi guys (+Knighlore),
I still miss one game. The game was written in Basic (maybe with occassional jumps to the machine code). You had to control some space ship. But as far as I know, it was not possible to look out to the free space. There was a computer monitor with some numbers/coordinates on the Speccy screen. You could maybe switch to another screens. But I remember the font - it was similar to Alien 8 and Lunar Jetman cosmic style. I liked to break the game with CAPS SHIFT+SPACE and enjoy the source code printed using this cool font. The game itself was basically worthless, I didn't know how to play it at all.
Please please help me.

Hello,

Long ago my brother and I played a car racing game: closed tracks (loops), 4 cars, overhead view of the whole track, cars seen slightly in perspective, can have 1 or 2 players (shared keys on keyboard), first car (which I think was called ERIC) produces sound with frequency proportional to the speed, and tires squeak in sharp turns, black background (I think). Default race was three laps, then advances to next and different track.

I have been looking for that game's name for years, on and off, and am unable to find it. If the description reminds anyone of this game, please send me an e-mail with the game name. I'll be most thankful!

Thank you!

Sorry if this topic has been discussed before.. But whats the worst ending to a speccy game you have seen? Whats the best?

Mine was probably Willow Pattern Adventure.

I spent bloody hours trying to beat it and finally I made it to the end. The boat was in sight.. I ran to it and....

It said WELL DONE in tiny writing in the corner of the screen.

I felt like throwing my T.V. out of my bedroom window. Makes me feel ill thinking about it now..

We've had the good times, but there were bad times too. I will give you two choice cuts from my back catalogue...
Over at a friends house, wanting to play Rambo, but "hey, I'll get my joystick over at my house and we'll play it. I'll be back in a couple of minutes." Two minutes later, I come in and see my friend loading the game and realising that he hasn't put the interface in, so he quickly slots it in place. His Spectrum was never used again.

Summer 1987 - I am desperate to get a game because the adverts for it look so good. Haven't seen any reviews, but it's a dead cert to be a classic. So I take the chance and buy it. The game? "Super Soccer" by Imagine. Oh dear.

Hi, only just found this forum! Was 12 years old when I got me Speccy, I think Lunar Jetman was the very first game I played.

Anyway... Minder. I have vague memories of this game. I seem to recall you bought stuff and sold it (there... the game concept in a nutshell!). There were some odd touches (eg, you could get nicked by the police bloke (name?) for having stolen property, but as long as you didn't go back to the lockup you basically avoided this! And you never actually needed to go back to the lockup for any part of the game), and I also remember being annoyed that it only lasted for 5 days or something (why couldn't it just go on with you buying and selling indefinitely?).

There was also a bit where you travelled from place to place in your yellow Jaguar with a truly appalling rendition of the Minder theme tune blaring out of the telly speaker that drove your mum up the wall.

Anyway... was it good or bad... I can't remember.

I'm searching for a game, that I saw a long time ago on Spectrum. It was an isometric game. It was set on some planet(?) and you controlled a robot(?). It wasn't Alien 8. I think that there were some instructions displayed while the game was loading and there were alien robots on the planet.

This game was in isometric view. From beginning you have one base and you can build one robot from given resources, you design the robot from blocks then you send him to capture another base and overcome enemy robots. The more bases you have the mor resources the more robots.
The game screen was yellow color with black outlines and bluish background in the back. Had nice music in beginning. Really awesome, dont' remember its' name though.

Another game I thought about is the game that I never understood how to play. It starts with some bearded man sitting in a prison cell. There is dripping water and a plate on the floor I think. There was a lot of stuff to read and I never figured out how to leave the cell. I think man was made to look chinese.
