But if there is anything between it and the speccy I get low beeping noises and random stuff on the screen along with resets and crashes.
I've tried this with my Intelligent programmable joystick interface, my Multiface 128 and my Comcon joystick interface between with no luck, it even doesn't work with just my reset switch or an empty Microslot.
Why ???

I picked up this keyboard at the flea market a couple of days ago. It was being sold together with a Speccy, PSU and cables but since I only wanted the keyboard I didn't bother examining the Speccy. Anyone familiar with this model? Were there additional cables supplied that connect directly into the on-board keyboard connectors? The blue connector looks exactly the same as Speccy's edge connector which is weird, if it wasn't meant to be connected directly to it. Find attached some photos. Would it be possible to make the needed male edge connectors at home? I'm no good at PCB etching so some sort of improvisation would be needed. Thanks!

Today, I've tried to put a composite video out in my +3. I've built the circuit proposed in this page.

I've built the left circuit (3 diodes, a transistor, and two resistances), and I've made the following connections:

- Video In soldered to D31 (and later to pin 6 in TEA2000).
- +12v soldered to pin 14 in MC1488 (don't ask why).
- GND soldered to GND marking in the missing tape connector.

I connected to a 32 inch. Philips LCD TV and it shows an very unstable image, going up and down and showing horizontal distortions (as if was not correctly set in a RF TV).

My best guess is that ground is not properly connected, but before trying again I would like a second opinion.

(Before trying with the +3, this morning I've modified a Spectrum + and it worked with the same TV, so the TV has no relation with the problem)

In my Spectrum + I made a hole in the lower plastic chassis to put a RCA connector for the video output (I didn't want to disable the RF modulator), but in +3 the lower chassis is smaller and don't allow that setup. How did you solve this question? A RCA connector in the upper part and some sort of connection to allow easier opening?

?C?mo lo ten?is montado vosotros? ?Un conector en la carcasa superior y otro entre la placa y la carcasa superior para poder desmontarlo m?s f?cil?

Is there a way to play .tzx files from an external source into a ZX Spectrum +2A without using it's "handy" built in tape deck?

THere is no "tape in" as on the 48k machine is there?

I'd like to avoid having to record new tapes, seeing as I could use something less antique nowadays.

+2 RGB to PSOne LCD Screen

Hi, I'm trying to connect my +2 RGB to a PSOne LCD Screen. What pins do I need to use - I'm not bothered about sound whilst testing. I have put an '*' against the pins I think are needed below, can anyone confirm?

Pin Name Description
1 Gmd Ground
2 Rt Right Audio
3 Gnd Ground
4 Lt Left Audio
5 Y S-Video Y
6 Sync NTSC Video/Composite Sync
7 C S-Video C
8 V-Gnd Video Ground *
9 B Blue *
10 +5v +5 Volt
11 R Red *
12 G Green *

I could not get hold of a 7 pin plug for the RGB, so I have soldered to the back of the circuitboard - will this be ok?

Also the modulator has come loose through plugging and unplugging so does not work - guess RGB should still work though?

Many thanks, Rick

I have a ZX Spectrum 128k +2A.
Trying it out for first time in over 10 years.

It starts fine and displays the initial menu and also supplies the tv test card for tuning in no problem with sound.

BUT... It doesnt react to the cursor key for selcting anythhing in the menu, nor does the "enter" key do anything.

There is a light buzz sound form the tv which stops whenever any key is pressed or joystick movement made. So it seems a signal of some sort is getting in to the computer from the keyboard and joystick, but no highlighter movement on the menu.

Any ideas whats wrong with it?
