To me, the charm about Spectrum, MSX, C64 or any other retrocomputer is what makes them UNIQUE, and therefore have the possibility to do certain things that others couldn't, or the limits not to do what others could.
Today. I'm happy that the "fight between the machines" is over! Let's appreciate memories for what they are, no matter which platform they belong to!

I cannot decypher the UDGs in the 'Worm' type-in by Robert Stockton at the mentioned page, but I believe that I could make sense of them if I had a very high-quality scan.

By 'high-quality' I mean something which has at least 4 times the resolution of the current scan (2x horizontal, 2x vertical), and which is NOT a JPEG ! (PNG/TGA should be used or something to that effect). My mailbox can accomodate files up to appx. 5mb in length, so that's the maximum size of a sent scan (they should be sent one at a time).

So, if anyone can spare some time, inform me and I'll send you the e-mail addr via a PM.
Thanks in advance. I would really appreciate any help with this...
Today I got one of those gold connector 'fusion' coax cable-RCA double insulated type cable and wow!! IMHO it improved the image by at least 30-35%.
(Although my stock RF cables were prob. on their way out...). No distortion, great sound quality without having to do any spectrum side mods etc... :D
The cable is huge compared to the stock, which I guess has to do with the double insulation.
Went to radio shack, put me back about $24.00 (+-)?15.00 but well worth it :)

Anyone know if there is any way to get multiface 3 saved progs to load without a multiface 3? I remember I had a huge (10 tapes) game compilation once - just numbered white tapes and a black and white manual, and all the stuff on that was saved with a multiface, but was loadable on a standard speccy. Any ideas?

Anyway - the only way to get things to work on my real +3 at the moment (if I can't snapshot them in 48k mode) is to save a multiface file to tape - which I could then transfer to 3.5" disk, or load in via the line-in.
For instance things which require the snapshot to be like a +3 type (Pentagon/Scorpion progs) can't be backed up any other way!

Hi guys,
I don't mean to offend anybody, and I really love my 128K +2 Speccy and all the spectacular emulators available for this system, but I really need some help here.

After I stopped using my speccy ( around 1991 ) I got an MSX 2+( which was much better and closer to the spectrum than anything else ), with amazing music capabilities, and I remember I used to create wonderful music with a program named FAC Soundtrack. I am back into the 8 bit scene now ( thanks to exellent emulators) and I really would love to use that program again .... if I could find a place to download it. I have been google for it but no luck. I accidentally came across a few files to be used with a ' Moonblaster ' music tracker wich I did not know anything about, but I heard was even better than the FAC Soundtracker.

While I still use my speccy for games and more serious application, I still would like to write again music with such a beautiful and easy msx application ( emulated of course ).

Did anybody by chance come across a site with such a download available ( Fac Soundtracker or Moonblaster for MSX 2/2+)?

I would really appreciate any help

Thanks

Has anyone seen the latest issue? On page 19 there is a small article on a group called '48K' who apparently specialise in remixing Spectrum music. The article doesn't mention a website, just that they sent the magazine a 3 track CD. Anyone know any more about this?

This should be an expected failure ?

Anyone done this? I see the cabling differences as talked about on the same page as the sound correction schematics, but thought I'd see whether anyone else has tried before diving in. Great this, I only get a Speccy 3 days ago, and I'm already cutting it to bits ;)

Have you ever noticed just how many spectrum emulators there are out there? Its incredible! In fact the speccy may well be in the running as most emulated platform ever!I've been looking around various sites and only the NES seems to be as widely emulated. Theres over 110 for the Spectrum, and a similar number for the NES, but as for the c64, it barely gets a look in. This may not be a totally exhaustive survey, but I could only count about 40.
I dunno why, I suppose the Spectrum may be easier to emulate (apparently getting those subtle shades of brown right takes some work), but I would have thouht that the c64 community would have been able to muster a better showing than that.
Actually when you think about it, 40's a pretty big number really, that means that there are at the very least 40 people who have taken the trouble to emulate the brown breadbox.
Anyone out there willing to do a more authoritative count?
