Showing off my new toy which I think is pretty good seeing as I was getting very limited access to the TV and its too cold to go out to the man cave just now.

Its intended as a reversing monitor for cars with maybe a a DVD player but it does make a nice portable monitor for home PCs and Raspberry Pi's

Spec is a 7 inch TFT monitor with 2 Composite inputs. Comes with a remote control. The menu allows normal stuff like changing brightness, contrast, 4:3 and 16:9 options.

The screen can be displayed normally or upside down depending on how its mounted.

You just need a 9-35 V PSO with 3.5mm socket.

Best of all its under 24.00 from Amazon
It was a succes, which counts for both console sales floors and homebrew area.
Gert van der Knokke, Johan Koelman, Martin Ederveen, Timmy (I asked about his Chinese name, but there is no way my mind could remember that), Patrick and some other Sinclair enthousiasts had a table or visited the show.

I'm a bit sick and in a hangover mood today as so many people wanted to see and hear (and sometimes touch) the ZX Spectrum laserharp, which worked better than ever!
I didn't have time to have a decent lunch, but I had a great time, and I was a bit ill before the show. So today I did ... nothing ;)
Allthough I didn't have time myself to shoot pictures or videos, the photo that was a reporter used for an article on the website in the Gelderlander, a daily paper for the province Gelderland, was my laserharp:

Hey everyone,

I have ZX Spectrum+, a DivIDE plus, an AY Magic card, and a Kempston equivalent joystick interface (which I believe can also emulate one other joystick type, although I forget which type). So by the sound of things, I should be good to go if I want to start making music on the ZX right?

Well, here's my problem...

I can't find any software that will load properly. I have found 8 different programs and all except 2 are in the format .SCL or .TRD, which to my knowledge can't be loaded through divide. Also, of the two that are in .tap form, one crashes after loading and the other is just junk.

Can anyone help me out please? I would love to know how I can load some decent music making software and would also love some tips on which software to use and so on. Really, any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks for your time people! :D

Domesdos was the working title of the operation system for the Sinclair ZX83 which eventually became QDOS for the Sinclair QL.

In a CONFIDENTIONAL (at that time) document dated 26 October 1983 (hey, that?s today 30 years ago), Tony Tebby wrote: ?The changes from Version 0.05 are mostly in the internal organisation. These reflect the change in emphasis from a small machine to a 128Kbyte minimum configuration, a high probability that a 512Kbyte expansion will be available at launch, a hard disk will be available soon after, and the machine is a flagship of a new line.?

Decades later, back in 2009, TT wrote in a series of articles called ?25 years? in the QL Today magazine: ?ln a fit of hubris over this "design for reliability" approach, the new operating system was called Domesdos {a home {domestic) DOS, even though it was designed for business use and it was a ROM operating system and not a disk operating system) after the slogan for a brand of bleach "Domestos" which "kills 99% of all known germs (bugs).?

Even 30 years later no single operating system has proved to be bug free. Time to dig out Domes*os... ;-)

Hi all. I have a Youtube channel where I play old games and such. I also do a few programming tutorials. I have recently added a Graphic Adventure Creator Tutorial to it. I hope it may help anyone interested in playing with it in this day and age. I doubt I will have many takers, but it at least keeps some info about the product alive and well.

People getting in now may be able to shape how the adventure proceeds, just leave comments for any puzzle ideas you may have!

Hope to see you there!

At this saturdays Retro Event I'm bringing my ZX Spectrum laserharp with me.
This time the laserharp 'show' (no stage, just the corner of a mid-size room) will be better then ever: I improved the accompanying music of the best known laserharp tune, Rendez Vous 3 from Jean Michel Jarre, am using a fog-machine now which is a lot better than a smoke-machine, improved the laser animations, etc.
I also will use a normal amplifier (no PC speakers this time), some simple stage effects and sun-glasses so people may confuse me with Jarre ;)

But there is still something missing...
Wouldn't it be great to use the ZX Spectrum laserharp with a... ZX Spectrum tune?
Help me select one or two then!

I have only 6 days left (5 evenings that is), so I can't spend days on it.
But I was thinking: when I find a AY tune and remove the track I can play on the laserharp, it's settled.

So: which 128K tune are best known?
Demo tunes can be used too.

To play it along on the laserharp, it must be a somewhat slow melody.
It would be nice if the number of different notes to play does not pass 10, but I can switch between note-sets if really needed.

I might put on a real ZX Spectrum with stereo sound and just leave one track out (I'll make a temporary mod to switch on/off the AY track).
