Best screenshot/game graphics?
My son got some Hama beads for Christmas (coloured beads that you put on an array of pins, and iron to produce a permanent picture).
This seemed like an excellent medium for a Spectrum screenshot or loading screen.
So, the question is, what would the best example be? I'd like something well-known and colourful. I was thinking of an Ultimate loading screen, probably JetPac or Atic Atac; ideally something that makes the best use of colour attributes.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers, Simon

As I was thinking along a similar line, after making construction models with my son with hama beads.
Although I was thinking more of using them to recreate sprites from games.
The problem of doing a complete Screen Shot, is the sheer size.
Screen resolution is 256 x 192,
Standard Hama beads are 5mm diameter. therefore size of Screen shot in Hama beads would be:- 1.28m x 0.96m without accounting for the gaps between the beads.
With mini beads 2.5mm diameter the size would still be 0.64m x 0.48m.
To do this would be quite an achievement.
I had thought of taking Ozzies icons.
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/9723/icons.html
and running them through an Icon editing software such as:-
http://www.icon-editor.net/
and getting a expnded print out.
This would give a Hama pattern of about 32 x 32 beads (160mm x 160mm).
I will have a go.
Hope you will post some of your pics soon.

Thats a great idea. How many different colours are there?
I did think about sprites, but for Speccy sprites of the 16x16 variety, there's not a lot of colour in there. However I might try one or two (Miner Willy + Jetman...?) as a trial run.
I was looking at the mini beads for the project, and do realise that the size will be an issue. I might just do a section of a loading screen.
Current possibilities are Wizball, Netherworld, Doomdark's Revenge (one of my favourite games), Atic Atac, JetPac.
I'll post links to any pics when they are ready.

You could easily make a version of Miner Willy - he makes fantastic use of the colour attribute he has - either with or without the top hat. He is only 10x16 pixels, and you could scale him up depending on the size of your beads. I reckon he's the most instantly recognisable icon of the Spectrum games scene.
Crumbs, though, you can do some impressive things with them:

As for loading screens, my vote would be for Alien8, because it's a simple design. It looks as if the denied games don't have loading screens in WoS, which is a swine because the other one I would suggest - Heartland - is also not there.

I'll post more pics when I've made more progress.
