C64 Plug and Play

edited January 2006 in Chit chat
The joystick with 30 Commodore games is now only ?5 in TJ Hughes (if there is one in your area), reduced from ?20. A lot of the games are crap but there are a few good ones.

Does anyone know if Amstrad is planning to release a Spectrum one?

Burn the heretic! It's blasphemous to say Commodore on here!

Ah shit, now I'll have to be burnt too

    Bring some marshmallows guys :D
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

I read about this on Lemon64 yesterday, and luckily a relative managed to pick one up for me - I wouldn't have bought one at the RRP but at this price, you can't complain!

And that is why it's called Commode ... so that one may not be burned for blasphemeous remarks nor heresy.

That's what I meant by the humour. They're selling a simple digital joystick, and you actually believe there's a full-blown retro computer in it! ROFLMAO!!!

I am guessing you didn't hear about the Atari Flashback v2.0 ... it comes with 40 games built in ... BUT ... you can actually
mod it to accept the old Atari 2600 cartridges.

So ... until proven otherwise I am willing to believe that the Commode Joystick is mod-able.

that c64 joystick IS a real c64 inside, there was a bit in retro gamer mag about hacking it and theres websites detailing how to fit a keyboard and datasette onto it

    found one here
    http://www.armchairarcade.com/aamain/content.php?article.75

    it says
"An interesting note about the 30-in-1 is that it contains the complete original C-64 BASIC ROM, so the device can be hacked to work just like an original Commodore 64, with an ability to use add-ons like keyboards, disk drives and even joysticks. Also contained within the unit are interesting Easter Eggs, or hidden surprises that need to be unlocked, like developer photos and more games."
