Anyone seen this before? I don't remember it!

I just stumbled across it whilst I was looking at some of the games in the Archive - it's from early 1985 I think. I was just surprised because I'd never heard about it before and Sir Clive never struck me as the type of bloke to have a rumble down the pub!

nice! :) never heard that before too.

but I?ve noticed more interesting matter in this tatter of news: Spectrum + upgrade - is there any pic as a documentation of such a "plug in" for the old rubbermachine?
my fantasy produces now a lot of images/imaginiences ;) how would this look in real... but I don?t see it clearly, how could you simply iron the new and bigger keyboard to a smaller rubber-speccy...

Oh god, I'd forgotten all about that!

Yes I remember seeing those upgrades - IIRC it was a just a new outer case for your original Specrum 48K, including a new (marginally better!) keyboard. I remember one of my school mates getting the kit and doing it himself, so it couldn't have been that hard.

Did anyone else do the upgrade? What about having a 16K Spectrum and upgrading it using the RAM Pack - wasn't that an Expansion Slot job?

It's obvious that Clive is a hard man, who drinks Newky Brown or something.

Chris Curry is obviously a lager-shandy drinking puff. (Well...he must be if he prefers Acorns to Spectrums)
