If you're gonna be like that, I'll stop defending WoS. Yes, Ben Green, if you or 'gmjgat' (whoever the he111 that is) are reading this, you're right. WoS does contain too many prats (perhaps including myself, I don't know).

i really don't care if you defend it or not. and i wasn't calling you insane. i was commenting on a comment that another user made, that you may have been having a conversation with yourself.
Eddy, that forum in you sig is totally crap. In that post more than half is spam. 'ye i lyk it'. Someone who can be bothered to register on it tell them that if they're not going to submit anything usefull then dont bother making a post. Jesus. It's not even cool spam. It's 'i wanna get 10000 posts so i can be mr sinclair or whatever' spam.
quote Necros:
I was wondering that, but I decided against asking since the answer wouldn't have made any sense.
Necros.
Translation:
Score! only 7690 posts left!
Necros. (nice touch, that'll get your words per post up)
And anyway, why not make a matrix out of a tamagotchi instead?
I'm not sure what the 3 AYs are trying to say but I imagine their toilet bowl smells the same.
Actually, there are now 4 AYs registered there. :)
And for a forum which allows animated avatars, which can be up to nearly 1Mb(!) in size, to call this one "crap", really takes the biscuit -- definitely PKB there...
I never make misteaksmistrakesmisyaleserrurs — oh, sod it.
I wonder what Alpha Software would do if they found out your "company" was illegally using their name.
Necros.
I am aware that there is at least one Alpha-soft (there appear to be many from a quick Google) but that's why my business (hopefully one day it will be a company in the strict definition to which you all seem to adhere) is called αλφα-SOFT instead. It's a different branding entirely. I'm not personally an expert on the finer points of copyright leglisation but I doubt whether you are either. As far as I can tell, I am not infringing anyone's copyrights, nor am I breaking any laws by calling my business αλφα-SOFT.
Oh and by the way, I have just uploaded the latest beta build of my latest game "Harris" to my website (which is http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/alphasoft/ by the way - I really need to set up a domain name redirect etc.), why not download it? It does not contain any viruses. I am aware that I have not programmed any proper Speccy stuff yet (just about 45 cgc games and counting) but it may show you that I do actually have some intellect.
I would also welcome any reviews of the software available on my aforementioned website (all of which are my own work, although the website html itself has been gamestaged from the mysterious internaut's site 'roggle' and then hacked up into what I need), and regardless of their point of view I will include any reviews on my website in a new section I shall make; subject to 2 simple rules. No profanities (ie swearing, remarks of an 'adult' nature etc), and Not larger than 100kB (zipped) as some people still have dial-up internet connections.
Come on lets get real, its not really a business is it, its just a strange kid whos created a website pretending its a business.
I would like to try some of your Speccy games in the future but theres no way on earth specially with your reputation i'm trying some .exe file from your site
I thought you wanted to develop websites as well ? The one you have is just terrible.
I thought you wanted to develop websites as well ? The one you have is just terrible.
For ****'s sake! I am not the mysterious internaut! He is a completely different person! And actually my website has been hacked out of his, I gamestaged most of his html so that's why the styles etc are similar.
And you claim it's not a business - although I haven't actually started selling anything yet, I will soon - just got to gen up on business legislation etc.
And 'my reputation'? I may have a reputation for being annoying but I don't see how I could have one for making viruses! I'm not malicious, I just can't get on with people very well. Since I intend to start a business, I'm not exactly going to put a virus in the first major demo I make!
By the way, I have written a Speccy game called 'Bookmaker' which is painfully slow but if you have an emulator with a turbo button it's actually quite fun. It will be uploaded to the ZX Cornah section of the site soon.
:) That`s more like it, you sound more your age when you do that, but you shoulda took the stars out for maximum effect...
What about a business based on being annoying? you do seem to be very apt at it, hehe You could get people to pay you to turn up somewhere and drive people up the wall (kinda like I do, but I don`t get paid)
Oh, and your game wouldn`t work on my PC... forgot what the error was, something about wrong path or summit. ? (WinXP) What`s it written in?
AY, you're just like a little fish. As soon as somebody dangles a small piece of bait in front of you, you predictably snap and take it. Has it ever occured to you that we may not care if you and MA are the same person? Will the Earth end if it's proved one way or the other? No, it's all AY bait, nothing more, nothing less.
I would have PMed this to you instead of posting in public, but I see no point as I think it quite likely that you have no idea just how funny this is....
Oh, and your game wouldn`t work on my PC... forgot what the error was, something about wrong path or summit. ? (WinXP) What`s it written in?
It's written in BASIC, should work in XP (that's what I've got) sounds like it's been installed to the wrong place. I probably failed to include sufficient instructions. It should be placed in C:/Program Files/ECSE/HARRIS/.
I'd like 500 sites please. All of them to be .co.uk ones. Just one page will do.... so, theres ?5000 of business for you. Obviously I want the pages to be XHTML/CSS compliant - and cross browser too - I don't want any IE7 problems that some sites are going to get..
I'll pay when the sites are online and verified. How much does it cost to register a .co.uk domain for 2 years these days? And the hosting? I assume its professional hosting and not dumped on a PC somewhere? I assume you can provide server stats & specs?
Hmmm - having said that, your own site is on googlepages??

Nooooo - when YOU write software, YOU decide where it gets installed, and make sure the user has the option to change location during installation. YOUR software should know the location of YOUR files.
The problem here is that the COMMAND function in the BASIC compiler I am using is not what it should be - it only returns the part of the command line after the program name. It can be done, but it isn't easy, to deal with that problem, and I will incorporate a mod in beta build 1.3.
Remember that Harris, as it currently stands, is a beta build.
Thank you for your helpful feedback on user issues.
I do wish you would just admit that you have several aliases here though !
Perhaps that .exe file doesnt have a virus but coming from someone like who as you always tell us is 'highly intelligent', thinks Hitler wasnt all that bad and who admits he is a bit off i dont think i'll risk running that file. Dont think i'm missing out on much
Its the school holidays, weathers been decent, go outside and have a laugh instead of trying to act like some poor rendition of Richard Branson and his business empire.
Christ when i was your age i was playing football in the summer and playing Speccy games in the evening and having a laugh.
As for the 'other' site....
[snip]
Hmmm - having said that, your own site is on googlepages??
Firstly, the spelling 'Cornah' is intentionally spelt that way; it is an attempt to lighten the tone.
Secondly, MY site (alphasoft) is not on googlepages.
It's on myweb.tiscali.
And I don't operate roggle - the MI does. I agree that his 'business' is in fact unworkable - his html programming is done with, by the looks of it, macromedia. First I've seen of a web designer who doesn't speak html (I don't, personally, which is why I gamestaged the code for my site out of his).

This may sound odd but I enjoy programming. Right now it looks like it's about to rain, but since I hardly ever go outdoors that's not a problem for me.
And the game Harris does not contain a virus. Why would I risk alienating the customer base?
Who is this Maxwell chap? What are you on about? And I'm not after a business empire, just a small software enterprise.

I wonder what Mefferts would do if they found out that Alpha Software was using the image of a Meffert's Professor Cube on their product. ;)
