How do you remove digital media protection?

edited May 2006 in Chit chat
If I download any music that has digital right's management protection, and I want to play it on my mp3 player, I can't, as it doesn't support digital right's management. How could I remove the protection? If not then I won't bother, but surely there is a way?

Also, how do you do the same for video files?

You tried manually re-recording them into a new file while setting the "Stereo Mix" as the input?

Use windows media player 10 to sync the protected MP3's (or preferably WMA's) to your player, or burn the files to a music CD and then rip them again!

Alternativly though you could stop being such a cheapskate and go down to your local MVC/HMV/virgin megastore or whatever and actually buy a nice shinny CD for about 3 quid more. that way, aslong as your CD ripper dont put any DRM restrictions on your music you rip, yopu can use it freely on your MP3 player as and when you like!
