wanted: Spectrum

edited June 2006 in Wanted
I've been trying to get a hold of a Spectrum 128k (pre-amstrad) or a Spectrum+ on ebay, but the shipping costs kind of make it hard for me. The cheapest shipping yet was one person in Newcastle upon Tyne who would post using DHL for £31 ....

Really, I'm interested in any speccy and accessories that's working (except mebbe the +3) and I'm willing to pay somewhere around £37, so if anyone has something lying around they don't need and can arrange for cheaper but reliable shipping to Gothenburg, Sweden, you can maybe get a good deal.

email me if you do!

EDIT: n/m, got one! weeee!! And its exactly what I wanted, Speccy 128k pre-amstrad with an Interface I, microdrive and original boxes and manuals in near mint condition and they were almost free!!

You can use the standard Royal Mail service for less than 10 GBP. I have sent a Spectrum to Slovakia, signed for service for less than a tenner, so looks to me like you're getting ripped off. I used International signed for, air mail btw.

    Enjoy your new Speccy!
    Oh bugger!<br>

Yes, but once the package gets over 2kg then you're screwed, because the price rises astronomically. From what I remember, Royal Mail has a weight limit of 2kg for international parcels. Just ask them to send the Spectrum without the power supply - that should bring it down to a reasonable rate. It should be fairly easy to find a power supply more locally that has the same power rating.
