There is a question I posed to my collegues at work, with no success, and so I ask my fellow specchums...

Who is the faster? Roadrunner or Speedy Gonzalez?

    As for the answer, I would say Speedy Gonzalez, but that's just opinion, so please don't turn this into a flame war - I have no evidence and haven't done any research...

    How the fuck can you say Speedy Gonzalez, have you seen the speed at which Roadrunner's legs move and how rapidly he moves up and down those desert roads?

    You come on here express an opinion with no evidence to back it up and then whimper "Please don't flame me"

    but the roadrunner can only run fast on roads, speedy is an all terrain mouse.

    Ah, but that doesn't count. It's just between Speedy and Roadrunner.

    I have to say, that's a very good argument, with Speedy being all-terrain and roadrunner being restricted to roads. One to think about. Nothin conclusive though!

    i think it depends on what kind of race we are talking about...

    if you take a sprint, then speedy has it (what with all that quick nipping in and out of the cheese factory, avoiding sylvester and side stepping those pesky mouse traps), definite show of great agility there

    but roadrunner is a different kind of athlete altogether, he plays the long game where his stamina will win the day, racing down those endless desert roads (with the odd detour in to a railway tunnel painted onto a wall), outpacing even Wile E. Coyote and his Acme Rocket-Skates

    so i'm staying firmly on the fence with this one, apart from a personal preference for roadrunner cartoons in general

    And does the Road Runner say "Beep Beep" or "Meep Meep"? I'm firmly in the "Meep Meep" camp, but many people disagree.

    If you think about it Road Runner is indeed faster. Speedy Gonzalez although preety nippy has the disadvantage of a big McF**k off Sombrero increasing his wind resistance and slowing him down.

    However the fastest cartoon animal ever has to be Droopy Dog. If anyone seen the cartoon where he was hunting down the escaped Mr. Wolf will know this.
