hello

when i was trying to map this game,i got to the end of level 14,the emulator(spectaculator 6.25)tried to load but just did nothing.i checked the tape recorder function on the emulator and the game has 2 more data blocks(the game itself has 16 levels,as said in crash review when it came out).i am using the TZX version of the game.hope somebody can help.thank you

    Can you send me a Z80 so I can check what might be wrong ?

    Might be corrupt level at 15, as Alkatraz doesn't have checksums,
    so it's hard to know if they've decoded 100%.

    We have it on a compilation, but it's denied :-(, but might be able to fix the TZX.

    i dont know how to explain this but.i got the z80. file ready for andy,at the end of level 14,tried to goto level 15 and it loaded!!!.honest i had the problem described above,but for some reason it worked.sorry guys.thank you

    We need a new group name.. hows this: "The Spectrum Games Restoration Team" From what I've seen, you've restored Last Ninja Remix, possibly New York Warriors and now this one.

    Is the compilation in question Super Sega and denied because it features Super Wonderboy, sold by Activision.

    I think I had this sort of thing happening with Last Ninja Remix. I think it's
    when the emulator kind of misses it queue and starts loading but misses the header to load the block. I just restarted the level, although with Alkatraz it probably results in a crash :-o.

    From the Map you've just submitted (on the What's New Page) I presume the level data is good. Always a worry with Alkatraz.. doesn't have checksums, only after loading is the checksum computed and compared (I think?).

    Yup. We did at one point 'swiss cheese' out denied titles from compilations, but it kinda spoilts them. It's a shame the denied permit holder wouldn't allow us to have covertapes left as is, but them most might have been on in their entirety. Their call..
