Help with a pc speaker problem

edited September 2006 in Chit chat
I recently was given a 19" Hansol Mazellan 900p CRT Monitor which replaced my old Packard Bell smaller monitor. The speakers i have are fairly ancient and need to be plugged in to an output socket on the back of the monitor to get the power. My new monitor doesnt have a 12v output socket and i was wondering if newer speakers dont require being plugged into the monitor as i dont want to buy some new ones and they don't work.

Any standard PC speakers you buy will have their own mains adaptor, so you will have no problems.

Besides, the one's built into monitors are terrible in comparison to even a cheap £10 set you can buy.

You could try getting your self a Power supply from somewhere like Maplins. All the relevent info you'll need should be on the back of one of the speakers i.e. voltage and current(amps)

Should set you back about a fiver
