Ideas for possible entries for CSSCGC 2006

edited November 2006 in Games
Has anybody got any good ideas for possible entries to the comp.sys.sinclair Crap Game Competition 2006? (CSSCGC 2006?)

Here's a few of the ideas I've come up with so far:

SUPER TOMMY HAMILTON LIE DETECTOR SIMULATOR
You are Tommy Hamilton and you must pass a lie detector test to ensure you win your court case against the News of the World and prove you didn't visit a sex club.

ON THE HOOK
A prostitution simulator.
1. Choose whatever drugs/drink you are going to imbibe before you go out to find some punters (e.g. Es, coke, crack, blow, Budweiser, Vodka or Whisky)
2. Set your prices for the main sex acts (Straight unprotected sex, straight protected sex, anal, BJ etc.)
3. Choose an area in which to hook (e.g. Broken Glass Estate, Northchester Road, Round the Back of the Local Tescos, In the Graveyard at Midnight)
4. Go out for seven days and see if you can earn enough to cover BOTH your drug habit AND your food for the week.

THE BLIND MAN SERIES
A whole series of games that follow the hilarious antics of a blind man as he attempts to do a whole range of different things
BM1 - Blind Man Goes Out on the Town
BM2 - Blind Man Goes Shopping
BM3 - Blind Man Goes Clubbing
BM4 - Blind Man Starts His Own Company, Turns It Into A Multi-National In A Short Space of Time and Uses the Resultant Profits to Fun Research Into Blindness That Results In A Cure For His Affliction
(Can't wait to see the speccy style cover for this one...)

I've yet to program any of them. If anybody else wants to, feel free. I'm feeling quite lazy this year and will probably only program one or two, using ideas not on this list. I just thought I'd share some of the ideas with others because I've got so fucking many of them and absolutely no inclination to get up off my arse and program them! :)

By the way, last year I programmed the crappy entries called Kilroy's Caravan Papers and Bus Shelter Simulator :)

Has anybody else got any good ideas for entries for the Crap Games Compo this year?

I have an idea of a game, but I plan to actually produce it so I'm not gonna detail it here. Still have about 3 months to get it done, by which time I'll probably have a menu system coded and a screen$.

I had an idea a few years ago which I never implemented, and whose time has (to some extent) passed. It would have used the Sinclair Light Gun for the +3, which wasn't implemented in emulators at the time. So it could only have been played on a real +3.

Err, but I couldn't be bothered to write it. Anyone who wants to for 2006 is welcome to the idea, as long as they split the royalties with me of course.

    And that idea is...?

My idea is a compilation of Mr Kizzas Greatest hits.

    1) Steve Davis 128 , featuring a little Steve sprite having to jump over 128 steaming piles of Keirens bullshit before he can get to the snooker hall.

    2) Quizmaster 1.2 which is a PERFECT conversion of his top hit on the ST. Includes 2 FULL questions before the game stops suddenly and suggests you find another quiz game , play that instead , and then nick the authors credit.

    3) Advanced Lawnmower Sim (Kizza Deluxe Edition) The same as any other ALMS out there except that NONE of the lawnmowers work. Ever.

    4) Big Boxing (Rediscovered Kizza MIA Exclusive) which has a VERY big box belonging to Kizza and the player having to guess whats inside. Answers range from Kierens rather inflated ego , a troff of noodles the size of a houseboat , an Atari Lynx collection big enough to give him a permanent boner , to a mountian of humiliation that landed on our friend after he got exposed in front of all his chums .

All we need to do is publish it under the label "Computer Classics" and we have have hit on our hands people ! :D

Who is Kizza and why do you have a beef with him?

    Great thread here....

    http://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12790

Basically this bloke over at AtariAge made out hes programmed some old Speccy games, got found out (it wasnt him, he was lying) and then tried to continue the lie and didnt admit he was wrong.

Very amusing, sure he never thought some Speccy fans would have been there to prove him wrong. Very sad individual to pretend he wrote these games

Wow. I wasn't aware of this thread. Mr Kizza sure is a wanker.

What's the point in taking credit for work you didn't do? Especially when you do such a piss-poor job of covering your tracks. :)

    What about a Shed Simulator.

"It's just like being in a real shed but from the comfort of your own home". :D

How about The John McQuirrick Nose-Picking Challenge?

See how many boogers you can pick from Mr Mcquirrick's nose before the time runs out and he sneezes all over his wife.

Great!!! Be even better (in a lame sence) if you wrote it for the 48k

But then somebody would have to make a dance mat/speccy adaptor, to get the authentic Dance Dance Revolution stomping action feeling.

ha ha that'd be qality. i'm sure some technical minded sod could come up with a basic dance mat, by pulling a joystick apart.

(my mate did something similar by making a steering wheel out of lego. so when it turned it clicked the sensor/switch. needless to say, it was shit)

The idea is the use of the lightgun. The actual game doesn't matter quite so much - the lightgun brings all the crapness required.

    Don't slag the light-gun!

The light-gun package was the package i got my first speccy in - a nice black +2A. I still have fond memories of many hours spent playing Bullseye and Operation Wolf with my brother that christmas. :)

    Aaah, nostalgia...

I'm working on Advanced Shed Simulator, in glorious Freescape, for the Crap Games Compo.

If anyone wants a go on my ASS, there's an alpha release here.

I've only finished area 1 (outside the shed). All you can do at this stage is try to get inside the shed, which requires a bit of cunning. Good luck!

Was this game programmed inside a shed?

I should certainly hope so, otherwise I would be severely disappointed, having spent a whopping ?0 in order to gain the genuine "shed-programmed" experience.

    What about:
    =================================================

    Paula Radcliff's Olympic Marathon Challenge!!!

    Subtitled: ( Fancy a wee run!?! )

    Sponcored by Tenna Lady
    =================================================

This game is basicly a 26 mile two and a half hour (or more depending on how good you are) joystick waggling fest

The object of the game is not only to win the marathon but to contend with Paula's week bladder.

You could have a little sub game where you have to avoid peeing all over Paulas trainers.

I think a picture of prophet Mohammed with that bomb turban as a loading screen would go down nicely ;-)

"advanced people management simulator" would be a good name for it.

you can choose to be pope or a caliph, and try to tweak people to do whatever you want. :)

I've never managed to sucessfuly use the 3D Construciton Kit on an emulator, it always messes up when I try to save the data and load it back in again. I can't rememeber exactly how that happens. Are there any tricks I need to know in order to use it properly?

I just tried submitting an entry only for it to bounce straight back. It was the first Spectrum game I've written for nearly 20 years. Apparently, bos-mail-smail1.bos.lycos.com is blacklisted whatever that means. Something to do with some Spamcop thing.

I'll send an email selling viagra or fake Rolexes to see if that'll get through.

    Mr.Kizza's On The Run? :p

I'm just starting to do things in BASIC, so I can't code yet.
I could do a somewhat quiz in basic or something to make a laugh,
    but that's about it. :D
