Oh No not another Ebay story
I have bought this QL
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140045925747&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D140045925747%26fvi%3D1
And just today i have recieved a email from the seller to ask if i have recieved the computer, now do u think he has actually sent it or is preparing me for a " it must have got lost in post , I will refund you " only for him to sell it for more at a later date. I am a cynical old b****r.

But lets give the guy the benefit of the doubt, I do hope you haven't been stung. Ask him for a copy of proof of postage or the recorded delivery tracking number.
And if he does turn out to be a con man then I'll volunteer to break his F**king legs for ya.
Fingers crossed
To be honest i checked on his feedback before i bought it, so my guess would be he may have realised he has sold it at too cheap a price, and wants to re-sell it, it might be ok but like u say its odd that he asked me if i have recieved it, so that's what made me suspicious.
Mind you, my main query would be why there's a nice big closeup of the user guide, while the QL itself is relegated to the background of the picture, but then I'm a cynical old bugger as well.
I think it depends on what the negative actually says, you can sometimes tell from the comments whether it's the seller or the buyer who were the ones being awkward.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/560/
It allows you to right click a sellers name and the choose open ebay negs which takes you to a page where only the negative and neutral feedback is shown. It also has the option of opening the neg page in a new tab.
If you don't use firefox you can visit http://www.toolhaus.org/ and enter the sellers name to get the same results but it takes slightly longer than with the ebay negs extension.
This has saved me trawling through 1000+ feedbacks to find the negative ones
Actually you are in luck - we eventually got together and got another batch of QL membranes made last year - many QLers had done without for about 6 years !!

The Rushall Youth always kicked yer heads in!
From the auction...
He stated that it's working, and I didn't see anything mentioning it being sold as-is. I'd say you've got a right to complain.
Still I suppose even with the extra cost of a membrane it's still not too bad a deal, that is providing everything else on it works.
Looks like I'm only going to be breaking one of his legs then
Seriously though what I do now is I keep a little list of ebay scumbags beside my monitor as a handy little check whenever I'm shopping online.
Also if I've bid on something and then get suspicious about it I pay the seller by postal order. That way I get the persons address. Anything goes wrong I simply take a couple of days off work and pay the person a visit.
I'm glad you actually got your machine though.
When i sell stuff on ebay my consience wouldn't allow me to pull a dodgy stroke like that.
Bruce rather than break one of his legs u could tweeze one of his nose hairs out v e r y s l o w l y, i think he would give u the refund straight away :)
As for plastic feet - I have plenty of spare ones - although the QLs never really needed 3 and only some models will actually allow you to put 3 feet on them (even though there might have been 3 supplied in the box by Sinclair).
PM me separately for the feet - you can have one for the cost of the postage.

Why does my QL have 6 feet then? Am I missing something here..... You are talking about the small rubber disks that fit in holes on the base of the unit, like gromits, yes?
They are the exact same feet at you'll find on the Speccy+ I reckon
Thanks, you beat me to it. The plastic feet certainly make a difference to typing on the QL.

Okay, so I DID miss something and indeed, I have none of those little feet things. As the "old gits" say, "Oh bugger".
I've only had Ms QL for two days now, so I'm not sure what is supposed "to be".
