Stupid q. on NDS.

edited November 2006 in Chit chat
Hi there, long time listener, first time caller by the name of oprakS and I have a stupid question about the Nintendo DS and it goes somewhat thusly-wise; if one were to purchase a Nintendo DS in the USA and bring it over to Oohroop, will said device work with other games from said destination?

Also, I do have to complain about the NDSlite, the buttons are just too itty-bitty for my 10 thumbs and I can't rest my index-fingeroos in the little "crawl-space" between the screen and case like I did with the original DS.

That was all for now and I hope you will be able to go about your business like nothing had ever happened and now I must surely take off or somethinglikethatwhatever.

Anywho, does a NDS from USA work with games in Europe?

    Dear oprakS,

    No. You must NEVER, EVER, EVER bring an american (small 'a') DS to Europe, as contact with the exotic European air will cause it to immediately turn into a blue mushroom*. Serious embarrassment will ensue for all parties and you'll never be invited back. Instead, invest in a small box with a hinged lid. Simply open the box every now and again and coo orgasmically. You'll be instantly adored (especially in France).

    Yours,
    47claM

    PS, my wife loves your show on TV.

    *Oh all right - it'll work fine.

    Yes, yes, and yes again. And vice-versa as well.

    Can a [X] NDS play multiplayer with a [Y] NDS??? :p

    X = One colour.
    Y = Different colour.

    I wonder if anyone has looked into whether one could gut out the screens of a regular DS and insert the screens from DSlite. I'd rather want the original case with the brighter screen than the itty-bitty DSlite. Anywho, people, look into it, come up with a solution and send me a working one for less than a tenner :razz:

    Oh thank you kindly 47claM, yes my show is doing fairly well considering my diet-yo-yo-ing and ambiguous "marital" status.

    Ask your wife if she likes pennies and if she does then tell her to check under her favourite seat, wont you deary?

    All handheld consoles ever made are totally region-free. None of them have ever had any region locking on any of their games.

    You don't need to EVER worry about which region you've bought a handheld console or handheld game.

    (The only slight exception is the PSP's movie side, which has some region-locking for the UMD movies, but as hardly anyone actually buys UMD movies this is irrelevant for most people.)
