gold / mining game ?

edited December 2006 in Games
hi guys,

i'm relatively new here and i'm looking for a game who's name i can't remember. the details are sketchy too (sorry!).

it was a mining game (i think), either for gold or oil. it was more strategy than action (I can't remember many graphics, although the screens from Gold Mine rang a bell, but it's not that), and i'm fairly certain it involved getting reports on whether it was worth mining in certain places etc...

i'm pretty sure it was on the spectrum, but i've checked games with mine/gold/dig/prospect in the title and so far drawn blank.

any ideas?

    again, sadly not.

it certainly didn't have much graphics at all, and for what its worth I think the screens were mostly yellow. its really annoying me now...

I'd looked at Oil Tycoon and its similar yeh, but not what I remember. Beginning to wonder if I'd dreampt it all. Have to ask my brother to see if he can come up with any more clues...

Hey, I think I remember the game you're on about...looked like it was programmed in basic and would show the mine shafts being dug down and then across the ground?

Completely forgotten about it, but I remember the reports on whether there was enough gold there or something.

Never did very well with it...wish I could remember the name now...

It definitely wasn't a type in game was it? Seem to think it might have been in the pages of Input...

I'd actually thought about INPUT but didn't want to mention it in case anyone else could actually remembered it. IT definately sounds like we're talking about the same game here.

Now if only there was a repository of INPUT magazines online, or at least the games from them...
