Lemmings has been scrapped from teh book because we can't find any way to make the presentation look good..

Drop the source files you have over to me mate and I will see what i can do with them :)

Would be a shame to lose Lemmings from the list of games you want to cover and I am sure that I can find a way to make it look pretty for ya!

I get like that sometimes - don't worry about it.. if anyone read my previous post, don't worry, I've been feeling depressed lately...

    the book will go ahead...

dude, we all get like that at times... I know that I sure do... But if it got to the stage where I felt necessary to post about it in a forum of virtual strangers, I'd look to get myself some counselling or other guidance/help...

Seriously - I'm not trying to be rude here... but if you feel that bad, posting in a public forum like this isn't going to be helpful to anyone - and especially you... unless it's one where that's the topic of discussion.. maybe alt.support.depression would be a start.

A single comment like Bluce_Ree's can be enough to put me of totally.. mainly the reason nothing has been done since..

    Oh!

Blimey... I didn't realise this was going on!

Sorry Zero, I honestly didn't mean any offence. It was a genuine question (as opposed to a comment) which I asked in an straightforward manner. I wasn't being sarcy or anything!

I'm not a violent bloke red..

Bluce - sorry if I was rude... no offence taken. At the time of reading your post, I was feeling really down. For all you knew, it was only going to be a 10 page book..

Heh, I got absolutely *flamed* by one guy when I released the first chapter of my documentary because I chose to release MPEG1 rather than Macromedia/Adobe Flash files. But, I was enjoying making the documentary so much that it didn't matter - and all the positive feedback I got from that and future chapters was a huge bonus.

Create this book out of love for the subject, not out of feelings of obligation or feeling the need to impress anyone, that way *you* get the maximum enjoyment out of doing this.

[As for Flash files: I *still* can't play them well on my (really quite powerful) machine, probably because I have a 64-bit processor and operating system, and the Flash player is for 32-bit x86 machines, so I have to play the Flash files effectively under emulation, leading to the sound going out of synch. Even then play Flash files full-screen is still pretty painful. And you can't play them on your DVD player. MPEG1 files are usually playable on any multimedia device.]

A new prototype.. Thanks to RetroRevivals and Andrew for the ideas...

    http://rapidshare.com/files/12456258/eftpotrm_book_proto1.pdf.html for an alt version

Forgot to mention - the text came from an online Crash review - it's just for test purposes, it'll be replaced on the final draft and a few ideas on improvements have been discussed by myself and RetroRevivals.

The first download has a screenshot background and the second one doesn't.

Sadly, due to the pressure of college work, my niece Emiliana has had to drop out of this project. I'll nab her to do the graphics for Professional Mel-the-Bell Simulator (maps of which will appear in Volume 2) though.

I have the ten games selected for this - as RetroRevivals says, Lemmings will take up a fair amount of pages..
