Anyone remember this game?

It's a long shot but maybe someone remembers this game. The only thing I can remember about it was that it was side scrolling platform/adventure type game (I think) and the bit I remember was that the main character was a worm or a snake or at least at some point in the game the character turns into a worm and as part of the adventure the worm goes down into hell, all red and spiky caverns. I would love to know what this game is called so thanks in advance for any answers.

    Indeed, it is Wriggler.

    And on the B side of the tape was "The Moons Of Jupiter", a tune I've always loved!
