Is that a best of? Or has it got stuff recorded after they told Hugh Cornwell to f*ck off? That new guy they've had in for the concerts and tours is a good singer probably as good as Cornwell was, but I don't like how he sings Always the Sun. Something about the way he does really gets on my nerves? Dunno why it just does?

Maybe it's the way he says Mmmmhmmmm?
yeah its a double best of (all eras), with one newer song...retro rockets, jeez your a bit behind lol, the singers on the new album "giants" is JJ Burnel and Baz Warne
The Stranglers are Jet Black (drums), JJ Burnel (bass and lead vocals), Dave Greenfield (keyboards) and Baz Warne (guitar and lead vocals). Giants features JJ Burnel and Baz Warne on shared vocal duties and boasts those trademark Stranglers bass lines and keyboard runs as well as a tango (!) and the first instrumental the band have recorded in over twenty years
oh baz warne was the early bassist in the toy dolls and was also in the smalltown heroes (i have an album by them on cd....apparently they only did one lol)

It's a bit weird in about 5 sessions of listening to it it's only thrown out 1 Bob Mould tune, and 1 Sugar tune, which I was listening to a minute ago or so. It hasn't thrown out any Grant Hart or Nova Mob (not that I'm really bothered ), or that band that Greg Norton was in for a bit a few years back with the funny name?
It keeps throwing out things like The Jam, Buzzcocks, and the most bizarre one a tune by Everlast. I wouldn't say Everlast was anything like Husker Du....not even a little bit. Weirder thing is it throws out some hardcore stuff like Black Flag, Minutemen, and 7 Seconds, but considering it's Husker Du Radio it's mainly only played Husker Du tunes from Flip Your Wig, Candy Apple Grey, Warehouse Songs and Stories, and that 8 Miles High one, which are their weirdo poofy alternative hippy albums. The only other 2 albums they've played tunes from are Zen Arcade, and New Day Rising, and from those 2 a selection of the softer stuff. Not impressed since it's Husker Du Radio I demand "All Tensed up" or "Punch Drunk" right now! Hardest tune it played was actually "New Day Rising", and the missus switched it off.
Annoyingly enough it plays the Minutemens earlier hardcore stuff as well as that bastardised country music sounding sh*te they put out later.
I skip the later stuff :D
Hang on? Incubus? Ugly Kid Joe?
I think it's time I started a new radio station
Since I'm not subscribed to the service though I can only skip 6 songs an hour, and there's more than 6 that need to be skipped

reminds me of when john peel died some guy put together a 'john peel tribute mix' which didn't just have stuff he never played, but even stuff he made a specific point of not playing i.e. Radiohead. the only time I ever heard him play radiohead was when Paranoid Andriod got in the Festive 50 and he had a moan before playing it lol
surely husker du have enough material to just have their own stuff on constant rotation anyway? sounds a bit fishy. I pulled out the live album The Living End the other day. the songs from Warehouse Songs + Stories sound a lot heavier live
I had it on again and it was playing stuff like the UK Subs, and Bad Brains.
Wifes gone to babysit the little sh*ts again, and I put it back on, it's back to playing stuff from flip your wig, and other things like weezer, Dinosaur. Jr, and Nirvana unplugged?
It's mental :D
Hang on it's playing Agent Orange now, not keen on then, but I suppose they're not that bad, and since I've started it up again I can only skip 6 songs an hour again.
EDIT: Oh it's getting better it's playing Minor Threat now, up and down, up and down :D
Comments
now
Rolling stones - forty licks (cd)
Track: Let There Be More Light
Jimi Hendrix - electric ladyland (cd)
Bob Dylan - greatest hits (cd)
I think the track 'Remember a day' is a classic. That was the first album with David Gilmour on it.
Indeed. Barrett is on there too, just the one song though...
Pogues.
Dubliners.
Dropkick Murphy's.
Flogging Molly.
Therapy (alright it's not Irish themed, but they're from Ireland).
....and some of Shane McGowan's solo stuff, which is actually a bit crap really :D
U2, The Cranberries, and The Corrs will not be featuring on this list today.....or ever :D
