Language Barrier

La Abadia Del Crimen is a game I would seriously love to play. Unfortunately it looks like the project to translate it to English has been abandoned.

Would someone here be willing to teach me Spanish? :)

I will gladly translate all the sentences and words to english if someone provides me with a text doc.

    Just kiddin Nec.. :)

The documentation for this game has already been translated (I helped do it) but the game itself , although looking VERY close to being translated fully , never showed up. Was a shame though because it would have been nice for everyone else to have seen what all the hoo-har from our Spanish friends , is all about ! :) Its an above average game in my book.

If you want to learn spanish then start buying the Dora the explorer magazine.

You'll learn important phrases like what to do if you see a snake

    shout "hoolebra"

Back in the 90's I had a file editor that I got from Microhobby and I used it to translate games from english to portuguese. That particular app showed all the text data inside a data file and gave the option to edit and resave.

Is there an emulator with such option? If there is, it shouldn't be hard to translate the game.

That would be a great idea, except text is usually stored as ASCII and since each character takes up 1 byte and sentence lengths vary between languages, you run the risk of overwriting important parts of the code and corrupting the game. It gets even more complicated when the text is compressed, which is usually the case.
