Spectrum issue 4S ??? What is that?

edited February 2007 in Hardware
I recieved a spectrum 48k today that i bought from Ebay (rubber).
I opened it up and to my surprise it was an Issue 4S, yes 4S!!!
I didn't know there was such a thing!!!
Also the board was very high quality, more green than any other speccy board i've ever seen, and very well made (the componets are soldered on the board in a very "professional way" if you know what i mean)
I would say it looked like a +3 board in a manner of assembly quality, but made from Sinclair.

Does anyone know how can an issue 4S exist?

Made in Korea by Samsung. It's an Issue 4 with the pads closer together so they can use disc capacitors rather than the axial tube variety found on British built machines.

They are a high quality build, but alas, break down just as easily as a normal Brit Speccy. I have four or five of those 4s boards here at home and they're certainly not rare. That said, you won't see many in the rubber keyboard case, most of mine have come in the + case.
    Oh bugger!<br>
