edited February 2007 in Chit chat
so this was my special christmas present to my self this year, a gameboy advance micro...

I've heard people on the forum telling they played speccy games on game boy...how on hearth do I manage to do that? is it by emulators or is it in the actual machine?

Nice choice! The gba micro has the brightest screen of all.

You need a rewritable cartridge and pc kit for running emulators and homebrew gba software. I bought mine (an ezf-advance 256mb) quite some time ago and it was worth the money. I found ZX Advance to be the best emulator for the system.

Easier still just buy a supercard SD and download ZXAdvance.

    Thats what I use.

so where do I get that and how much would it cost me? and would I be able to play the games downloaded here from the site?

www.gbatemp.net will give you pointers to the various rewritable cartridges available. And if you google for ZX Advance, I'm sure you'll find it. The emulator needs z80 snapshots to work, so you can download all the games you like from here, convert them to z80 if necessary and play them on your GBA. I'm very fond of having a quick go at Spyhunter, Jetpac, Bomb Jack or Manic Miner for instance. :)

thank you for all the replies! I'll have to check on those!

by the way, what GBA games do you recomend?

I got one of the first GBA when they came out, but only got 5 games (It was impossible to play that dam machine, It almost made me blind...)

I have the awfull ISS (had been playing it on ps1, so thought it would be similar...) golden sun (really nice but way to many dialogues so it gets boring) the two dragon ball RPG (not very good, but dam adicting for fans of the series like myself) and a pacman game (gf loves pac man but now that I spent money on the dam game, she says she only likes pack man on one of those stupid sticks you conect to the tv...)

so what games do you recomend? from the SNES nostalgia, I'm tempted on buying Mario Kart...Mario Tennis also looks like having long time value (if I still can stand spending more than 5 minutes on such a kind of tennis game...)

    give me some ideas!
