hardware help needed

hi

I've just bought a Spectrum + and I already own a Cub monitor, and was wondering what leads I need to connect the two up?

    Well, I don't know the CUBs too well.

    If it's RGB, you'll beed an interface. If it accepts composite video, then you just take the CV signal from the input to the modulator and feed it via a cable to the monitor.

    Karingal has plans for that mod.

    If it's a normal Microvitec CUB for use on the BBC it will have a DIN plug. You can find the pinouts in the BBC Micro Manual here:

    There were 2 versions of the Cub Microvitec Monitor. The first was just a bog standard RGB with a din plug at the back.

    The second one was the one with RGB and composite inputs. And this is the one you need really.

    If you do a search around the Beeb websites, or perhaps the Beeb forum on www.stairwaytohell.com you should be able to find the Cub service manual. I may have one knocking around so I'll have a dig for it.

    Failing that, the Philips monitor that was popular with Amiga users (the model escapes me ATM) is a good alternative and quite cheap at the minute.
