I've also submitted a story to Slashdot. Be sure to bump it up in the "Firehose". Better still, submit a story about the 25th anniversary to Slashdot - if we submit enough, one may well show up on the front page!
Can someone briefly explain to me the point of Digg, please? I think I'm missing something...

Digg is all about user powered content. Everything is submitted and voted on by the Digg community. If you've got a story to share you can submit it. The more people who vote for it, the more likely it is to be seen by the many people who read the site.
It's like a news site, but instead of an editor deciding what to show, it's members do.
I reckon there are many former speccy users who would love to hear this story, and this is one way to let them know about it.
