Spectrum users in England?

Are many of the forum members based in England ( U K )? Perhaps you are or know someone who is. This may have been asked before, but I can`t seem to find anything. It would be nice to find out if any gatherings are being planned.

Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

See this thread, in particular the link in the first post:

    http://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10784

This shows graphically where a lot of forum members are based.

I just looked at the map and my pin has gone :(

I had a pin in Birmingham and a second in Malta. The only one on Malta which you tend to remember.

Does it time you out if you don't visit the site or something ?.

I'm originally from Newcastle but I now live in Indiana U.S.A. So do I still count as a U.K. WOSser (please no gags changing the WOS to TOS :D )?

Yeah, same here, my pin has vanished. I've re-added it now at Wigan.

I don't think so. My pin has vanished too but I'm still listed in the frapper members list. Frapper *used* to have a button that let you show all registered members of the group rather than the default of 50. That has disappeared. So what I think is that it shows pins for the latest 50 or so adds and ignores the rest. And the latest version does not have a button to let you see everyone. Which was the point, for me anyway :-(

I'm in England - however I'm not sure if I count as a Speccy user since although I own two Spectrums I haven't turned them on yet! (I don't own a TV) I'm more of an emulator person. :)

There are no longer any Spec-chums in Canada at all! We have now officially become extinct. Yet another victory for the Commode... :(

I was a speccy user about 20+ years ago, left and have flirted about coming back again.

Just recently I may be actually going to do it, Im playing with an emulator at the mo, and if it keeps my interest for more then 30 seconds I will be getting my wallet out for one on Ebay (either a spectrum+ or original 48K)

I was in Kent when I got my 48k beast in 1983/1984, I now live in Oxfordshire.

For me the make or break to get one, is if I start writing a game and at least get further then paper.

    Does that count?

I can just imagine it, as she open the door to this Grizzly Adams individual.

    "Who the hell are you?!"

"Sorry, should I have phoned ahead?"

Poor girl, I could never put anyone through that. :D
