off of eBay - and found they all work :)

I was geared up with schematics and soldering irons as well, half hoping to have to get the 'scope and LA on them - oh well, don't look a horse in the mouth I guess.

I registered awhile back and made a couple posts here, took a break - and recently decided to reaquire and restore a classic rubber key version - the one that I remember most fondly (I still have a working +2 but it's just not the same).

So just how many people are still active here ? - what sort of collections do you have, and are you still adding to them ?

Well I don't have a collection. I have this 1 non-working speccy. But I do have a huge collection of games on my comp, and many tapes lying somewhere in an old steel trunk.

many ppl are active here. Though not as many as the number of members would suggest.

Still, stick around and u will come to know some of us better!

I'm active! And I don't have a huge hardware collection either - but that may change given time and or money.

I bought 3 appaerntly faulty Spectrums on Ebay too and they all worked as well. Which is pretty lucky because Im probably not nearly as capable of fixing Spectrums as I like to imagine. The listing said they had video faults, but I think this was due to the fact that the ropey modulators in Speccies dont get on well with digital tuners.

But anyway, welcome back GP! Im Just one of the many charming and witty folks who post on here these days.

;) not so sure about the witty!

the chap who I got these off also said he couldn't tune them in - I half suspected that was actually a good sign, as it's rare no signal at all comes out.

only problem is the dormant nerd in me has broken loose and gone metaphorically rampaging off through power lines and funfairs, Godzilla style.

That's my eBay 'about me' page. That photo is kinda typical of the spare junk I have lying around.

I have a +2 and a rubber key 48k which I use rather than an emulator.

Today - I bought codemasters 'Dizzy' for the Megadrive :)

I have at least 1 of each speccy released in the UK (except the rare and expensive 16k speccy), all boxed and tucked away in a nice little storage room, along with other computery/console related stuff.

The speccy is my favourite machine of all time, however at the moment my PS2 has found temporary favour and I insist on playing GTA Vice City and Tony Hawks 4 a lot. (perhaps too much  )

I guess it's good that what most people would consider 'worthless' junk nowadays is like gold to others.

thx1138 - love that film, classic - you could tell spielberg was going to do great things.

refrenz - I assume you mean the issue 1 16k ? - I too would love one of them :)
