Free booklets with magazines... in archive?

edited June 2007 in Support files
A recent trawl through my storage boxes has turned up some booklets that SU used to tuck into their mags back in the day. Specifically:

Top 50 Spectrum Software Classics
Gordo's Book of Adventures
Good Zap Guide 1987
Top Secret: Future Vision. "The Games of tomorrow. Today!"

Is there a section of the archive for this sort of thing? Had a quick peek in some likely-looking folders and seen nowt. I'm guessing the middle two have been or could be folded into the Tipshop, informationwise... at the time of typing I haven't checked (sorry).

Anyway if there is a place in the archive for this kind of ephemera I can get my scanning / tip-submitting groove on :)

These booklets (called supplements in the archive) go alongside the magazines they came with; per issue, the magazine itself in its 'Pages' subdirectory, the supplements in the 'Supplement' subdirectory.

However, you won't be able to find them using any of the search facilities, since they're just listed as a set of issue+page filenames.

I believe most (all?) of the ones you mention came with Sinclair User.

    Hi,

shame I don't know which issues these supplements came with! Yes, they're all from Sinclair User. I'll trawl the archive looking for issues with a Supplement folder and see if I have anything that's missing.

OK. The Gordo booklet came with issue 47, the Top Secret one with #56 and the Map Guide with #59. I'll have a look at the quality of the scans, and if mine are in better nick I will see about getting a copy to the archive.

The Top 50 Spectrum Software Classics, however, doesn't appear to be archived. Issue 44 (November '85) carries a similar supplement, which mentions an earlier Top 50 booklet from the previous November...

...so by some cunning deduction I'm guessing that's what I have here and it should go with Issue 32 :D

At some point I appear to have 'ticked off' games I played with a biro. Is it good archive etiquette to Photoshop these annotations out, or leave them as is? I also appear to have filled in the 'your own Top 50' section at the back at the tender age of eleven. Not sure I want everyone knowing I once rated Knightmare as a better game than Atic Atac.

    (Damn...)
