The buildings only had 12-15 years of life left in them. The cost of demolition was huge (I mean really hige). The owner of that building may have gone under, just with the costs and complexities of safely demolishing it. Why not get Uncle Sam to pay for it and get a big insurance payout in the process?? Pay some 'crackpot terrorists' to take the blame and gain the fame while infact its demolition may have been pre-arranged.
The thing that scares me is that this corruption could have run very deep indeed.

I'm inclined to beleive that the US (as in the Government) were not involved, but maybe some or a group of individuals were. I think it was more of a business issue than a Governmental issue.

I remain open minded about this issue. I wont close my eyes to either view of this tragedy as there are so many unanswered questions. I guess we will never know what really happened.
But with the whole TV thing. I just think that was the BBC bluffing their way through things. It was a high stress situation for all involved, there are many factors which could have lead to that.
The broadcast from the lady was a little ahead of what news the BBC in London had, as it was live after all. Her video feed did not provide the most favourable view and was a few minutes if not hours old (the rights for newer footage had not yet been aqyuired). Another thing, pointing a TV camera and lights at glass with a reporter infront of it would not have given a clear view of the outside, so they had to stand infront of the blue screen or image proection device.
It probably took a few minutes for the BBC to check the facts, acquire the broadcast rights to the best video feeds from CNN and the like and prepare the auto cue for the news reader. Therefore they would most definitely have been a few minutes behind the female reporter's live broadcast.
People believe the news stations to be magic. What we see takes tones of work behind the scenes.
Why would anyone lie about it? there is no reason. All they would have to say if 'they' wanted it gone is 'the building was dangerous due to the damage it suffered so we demolished it'.....no need whatsoever to 'cover up' and say they didn't demolish it.

The only plausable explination that springs to mind is that the building held financial, and legal records that they did not want recovered. After all it was a trade center.
I dont think the plaines in normal circumstances would have done enough damage to justify demolishing this building in the short term. At least they would have had time to get out any crucial documents etc.
