Cyberknights (CRL)

edited December 2007 in MIA/STP/SDP
I've got the tape for this MIA rarity in front of me. I'm hoping in a few days to meet up with one of the preservation team and make a TZX and do inlay scans, etc.

:)

hi to Andrew, Tony, Martijn, Steve (Gilby)

So I wasn't well today. However I was able to do this:

    www.freewebs.com/valtoa-lorik/cyberk1.z80

    (the game)

    www.freewebs.com/valtoa-lorik/cyberk2.z80

    (the designer)

    Enjoy :)
PS. How do I upload files to WoS? Thanks.

Wow, great stuff. I had been sceptical that Cyberknights ever made it into the shops - obviously I was wrong.

I'll type up the instructions tomorrow - since it loads with a standard loader (not injectaload as expected) I'll be able to upload a Gerton Lunter TAP file. I can't do TZX myself though.

Guy, how come you can't do TZX files?
    Oh bugger!<br>

The audio software I have (Audacity) only does 16 and 32 bit sampling, and I'm kinda reticent to install the Adobe version of Cool Edit, as that was responsible for so crashing Windows I had to use Linux till I could get a new computer.

(although my old computer had hardware issues too, so that a reinstall meant it ran at a snail's pace)

    Sounds nasty!

I don't run anything Adobe apart from the pdf reader, so can't comment. I use Cool Edit 2K and have never had a problem if that counts for anything?

    Guy,

If you goto Edit->Preferences and select the File Formats tab you can select WAV (Microsoft 8 bit PCM) as the export format. When you File->Export as WAV it will save as an 8-bit file and MakeTZX should be happy.

I can also send you Samp2TZX which handles 16-bit Stereo samples.... MakeTZX supports 16 bit samples too.
What kind of problems are you having ? Or was it MakeTZX for Linux ?

Alternatively upload your WAVs to WoS and I'll pick them up here ;-)

    Cheers

    Andy

Thanks Andrew, I'll try it again. (I'm back in Windows XP now.)

Did you see the file I linked to in the Roybot thread? :)
  • edited October 2007
OK, thank you Andrew. With that, I've now got a working WAV file for Cyberknights. (tested & loads in EightyOne)

Just got side 2 to do (the design prog) and I'll then upload both. Cheers.

Edit: got a 'server reset' error trying to upload a WAV, so I used maketzx and I'm just uploading the TZX files now...(tested & loads in Spectaculator & EightyOne)

Edit #2: files uploaded :) Thanks for everyone's help in this thread.

thanks for the update Martijn - there's also a TZX, you did get this I hope?

I've got the tzx file, WOS will be updated with that when the vault is next updated...

WOS should already have it, Gilby.

True, but the way that WOS gets it's tzx files is via an import from the tzx vault. That's just the way it's been setup for a few years now...

Don't worry, the next vault update isn't miles off now...

Personally, I've just got to wait for a few tapes arriving in the post so I can rattle off a few redumps, and hopefully sort something out with Tony (ADJB) so a few MIA/STP's can be knocked off the list and we'll be good to go...
