He's been kept busy with a massive disaster (probably natural or probably man-made) which hasn't been reported yet, where the mortality rate is in triple digits. :D

    Necros.

I think he has done a 'miles' and got all hurt feelings-ed about some of the threads lately so he's taken a week off.

    Allright, I confess!!

I stole his soul and now I have it as my mobile phone's wallpaper.

    Happy now?

Yup Joey Bishop died. were you in a cave this week, or were too afixed that Stephen Colbert is running for US President, and the possible breakup of the Violent Femmes?

I don't have the slightest clue who Joey Bishop, Stephen Colbert, or the Violent Femmes are. Apparently I must be in a cave...

Joey Bishop= last surviving member of sinatra's 'rat pack'
Stephen Colbert = comedian who has a spinoff show from the daily show
Violent femmes= a band or drunken bar flies....take your pick.

I don't know who Joey Bishop or Stephen Colbert are and don't really care. As for the Violent Femmes you're lucky you don't know who they are cos' they're absolute shite. The only thing better than them splitting up would be if they'd never formed in the first place!

IN SIMPLER TERMS THAT YOU'D BE FAMILIAR WITH:

The Violent Femmes = Minneapolis band who's debut is a brilliant slice of acoustic post-punk and who's proceding albums are terrible. They wrote "Blister in the Sun" and "Gone Daddy Gone".
Colbert = The guy who wrote the TV show "Strangers with Candy", he's was on the Daily Show for a while, then he got his own show on Comedy Central called "The Colbert Report" (report pronounced "repour" to go with the silent "t" in Colbert's name) which is actually outranks the Daily Show in the ratings, which is a satire of Conservative right wing pundits (read = Bill O'Reilly)...his run for president seems to be a publicity gimmick. Shame that the UK doesn't air the Report
Bishop = The last living member of the Rat Pack. I mean are living under a rock or something. I mean if Sir Clive or [any footballer who is famous in the UK as even with Beckham, America STILL couldn't care less about the rest of the world's fascination with this "soccer" game] died, you would be all over this. His death still got less coverage than Anna Nicole's, but more than Syd Barrett's did in the States.

It's nice to have BEANZ in Houston to explain American culture to the xenophobic. (=

PS: DEATH will be away for a while, but he's as alive as DEATH can be :)

There'd be no point. We're too xenophobic to understand it...

{SNIP!}...but more than Syd Barrett's did in the States.

I've heard of all those other people, but who's Syd Barrett?

Yes, I know perfectly well who he was, but it's a laugh, isn't it?

Syd Barrett fans are like that.
I mentioned that because of how American news is: No one cared about Syd (he got a mention on the crawl thingy on CNN once), but when Anna Nicole died (despite the fact that she did virtually nothing redeeming in her life aside from marry a really, really old guy, posing in Playboy and making several terrible movies) ALL the news talked about was her death (i mean should i have used Gerald Ford instead of Barrett, because Ford was a FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and he's death wasn't talked about as much as Anna Nicole). Joey Bishop's lucky that when he died CNN at least talked about him.

At least the Red Sox are in the World Series (you know, it's really glib that Major League Baseball calls it the "World Series" when there's only one team not in America [Toronto Blue Jays] who are in the MLB. Then again we call a sport where there's about 10 seconds of foot contact with a ball "football", and what the rest of the world calls football we call "soccer" for apparently no reason. )

Number 1 news story this weekend.

    Number 2 news story

Dumbledor (sp?) from Harry Potter is gay.

....glad nothing more important is going on in the world.
