Great game jonathan, well done. I've been absorbed for hours when I should have been working.
Finding any of those last 9 locations is beyond me for now, but I am really quite stuck and need a tipshop special from someone.
Playing collect-em-up I have explored all of the ship (as far as so far mapped at least) apart from the screen to the left of Open Sea at the far left of the ship map, collecting 37 eggs. But I can't get onto that screen nor find any other way of exiting the ship... I have tried lining up the fruit machine in the casino just in case it opens something, but still can't find a way off the ship...
Anyone know? Any clues, subtle hints or big obvious pointers welcome!

No secret, it's straightforward. Go to the navigation screen, and grab the ship's wheel with the pick up/drop key. You then have a choice of 8 destinations. Once you've selected one you can hop onto that crate and it'll take you to the beach.

If you're playing the arcade adventure you'll need to bring the anchor onto the ship first.

Only four locations, I have discovered five hidden screens in Egypt ;-). BTW, are all hidden screens accessible even in collect-em-up version of the game?

Now I am playing puzzle version of the game, but I have a problem with recognition of some objects, because they don't have any titles. So I would need to help to identify those ones with question-marks:

Well done in finding your way to the top of the pyramid. I can confirm that 2 are not accessible in the collect-em-up, and are only revealed if the player is carrying a certain object.

    The items in question are:

    2. pear
    6. oranges
    10. aspirins
    13. torch
    15. pool 8-ball
    21. traffic cone

Thanks Jonathan, I thought that number 21 is switch-on torch, that's why I couldn't get into the gloomy room ;-).

Is this a strange fetish of yours that we've unearthed Skarpo? :)

I've heard of 'pubic topiary' in Viz magazine, though an Afro would indeed take some growing.

It's not a fetish ... it's a way of living. I believe in Feng Shui of the Pubiary Kind.

Mmm, I am still stuck in the boat so Its gonna be some time until I find the secrets of the game! This game is very very big, it reminds me of Phantomas.

A very good platformer, I ll have to play it hard!

    Cheers

Even one puzzle element was one too many for me. I'm really glad you put the collect em option in. Such a good idea to create the two playing options. I'm now going to float off to France...

I'm going to have to invest a few more hours in this tour de force today.

    Double Oi!

Look. If enough of you lot can muster some REAL cash (none of this Euro rubbish) then I'll bugger off!

I'm cheap and easy. Well, cheap anyway. No. Wait. I'm easy too! I'm cheap and easy and I can do magic tricks! For the kids! With balloons.

Now I am totally stuck. I can't open the door in the pyramid - keys don't work surprisingly. I tried to poison the guy in the tower at France with combination of aspirins + alcohol + mushroom/toadstool but without any success :).

Just to clarify, does that mean there are 138 rooms to visit in the collect em up in total?
I'm about to embark for Egypt, my final destination... I really hope the rooms missing from Pavero's map are all in Egypt. I haven't found any new ones getting this far...
For the collect em up, I'd have to say that Spain has some really tricky rooms to negotiate. The room designs have been absolutley expertly crafted in this game.

Number of rooms visited : 2

    I'm aces at this game.

oops. Just saw the previous note saying that there are 138 screens in the collect em up.
I have now been to Egypt and can't find my way to any that are not on Pavero's first map. I feel that I should be able to get onto the top of the pyramid and then scale down the outside to the ladder bottom left, but no joy. That green 'vine' near to the egg on the right side of the pyramid looks useful...but seems not to function - at least not in the collect game...
I'll have a break and a rethink, unless someone updates here with a spoiler (very welcome btw)

You make me happy. I died with 7 visited rooms and now i pretend i never heard about the game.

I wouldn't worry too much about the hidden screens, they're not essential and only come in handy in the arcade adventure where they contain extra lives.

If memory serves there are 132 items to collect in the collect-em-up, so if Egypt is your final destination you may have missed something a little more obvious somewhere else.

You must choose opposite way, the path on the top leads under the pyramid ;-). The green 'vine' (door) are functional in the puzzle version only, unfortunately I can't get behind it. There are 5 hidden screens in Egypt. I would say that others will be in Italy behind the hill and maybe under the ship on the left ???.

    Other questions: ;-)

    1) How many objects is in the puzzle version of the game? I have found 23 for now.
    2) What is the name of the object which I can find in Gibraltar?
    3) How many friends I must get back on the ship? (four?)
    4) For getting behind the door in Egypt I need only one object or more?

    1. Not including friends and extra lives, there are 27.
    2. A demi-john. This is homebrew, after all.
    3. Five. Plus the aspirins and something to take them with.
    4. Only one object is required, but you need to make sterling progress before it becomes available. ;)

Oops, 27 objects? Does it mean that one friend and four objects are located into the hidden screens? Because I found 23 objects and 4 friends in 136 visited screens only.
  • edited December 2007
Any tips for locations with other secret screens which are accessible without holding special object?

Is there any screen under the ship on the left or it's red herring only? ;-)
  • edited December 2007
It sounds like you have 3 friends and the aspirins back on the ship, you know where the 4th is and can't get to him, and still need to find the fifth, plus something to take the aspirins with. Well, you've already found the object that reveals 2 of the remaining screens. You should find Egghead's fifth friend shortly afterwards.

As for the remaining objects, you might be better off concentrating on actions rather than searching for more screens. The 27 objects includes the ship's wheel so you probably haven't haven't brought the last 3 items into play yet. I suspect you're really missing an object that many players will have obtained the first time they played the game, and will ultimately open another door for you. There was at least one person in the chatroom who had found the item in question on the day the game was released.

I have 2 friends only on the ship. I can't get to friend at France also.

Object that many players will have obtained the first time they played the game? It's the lifebuoy or not?

I also found the book with question-mark, with this object I can open one door (from one side).

I have won one pound in casino now ;-).
  • edited December 2007
Poor old Shelley's still stuck at the top of the lighthouse, eh? You've already found the object that will fix that.

The book of answers will get you into the pub quiz, but if you want to access the friend trapped in the pyramid you'll need something to open that door too, and that pound in your pocket could turn out to be rather handy.
