    It's a shame, Loved his performance in "Timelapse" (only kidding),

    I really did think he was good in "2010: the year we make contact" though, and most of the other better known films he has made over the years.

    Sad news I have to say.

    I heard that earlier. It's a pity. 2010 was a really good film which deserved far more exposure than it got. I'm still amazed that, even though it's been more than 30 years since it was released, I still haven't seen Jaws. I really must watch it.

    Sad news, I liked him. Ill have to watch 2010 in memoriam.

    Hugely under-rated actor. Was superb in everything he did, even Blue Thunder and that TV show he did about the submarine.
    A sad loss.

    Apparently the line "You're gonna need a bigger boat" was an ad-lib by Roy. Sheer genius.
    When you say you can't write lines like that that it's true, just leave it to the actors...

    Was always a huge fan of Scheider. In fact I remember as a half-joke many years ago going over to a mate's house while wearing a Roy Scheider "badge", which was a picture of Chief Officer Brody pasted on top of a Xenon 2 giveaway pin. It was so convincing that a couple of people had actually thought I'd bought it. Yeah, of course...
    "Hi, I was just wondering if you have in stock any Roy Scheider badges?"
