FAO Mr Heide

edited February 2008 in Games
Why did you delete my thread directing people to my thread in the sales section?

Not everyone automatically goes to the sales section you know, and all im trying to do is give people a chance of getting their hands on some stuff they might want.

Well, if they wanted your stuff, they'd go to the sales board on their own. There's no need to advertize one thread in another board.

    Deletion was perfectly justified.

    What Lockett said.
There's a reason for the forum split up... multiple posts on the same subject is considered spam and disencouraged.

Ah, an arselicker. If you read my other thread you would realise that im giving away stuff. Ive tried to look for the "giving shit away free" section, but I failed to find it.

And since when was your name Mr Heide?

    1. This is the games forum. Post about games, or GTFO. Sales are not games. Free or otherwise.
    2. I doubt martijn is an arselicker.
    3. Martijn's name has always had "Heide" at the end. Were you under the impression that it was something different?
    4. There's a "quote" button - did you spot that? It helps clear up the confusion that arises when you start shouting at the wrong person and getting all angry and stuff. You do look very, very foolish right now.

    D.

Not being an internet geek, the last thing I feel is foolish about not understanding the "quote" button, but thanks for pointing it out.

And the arselicker statement was for Lockett

"Ask in public, get an answer from the public" is a pretty old and relevant rule.
You also asked privately, which was answered within minutes (same answer), so this is all very unnecessary.

Oh hang on that should be in the "currently listening to ..." thread.

Come on, calm down accept the moderator/owners rulings and move on. I'm moving on to the free stuff in the sales thread. I think it's only cool to insult people in the chit chat thread... hmmm might go there next after the free sales thread.

Come on, calm down folks, remove the pointy sticks the reticent mheide is well capable of standing up for himself or deleting threads.

Must get this posted before this thread is dele

O sully no need to be so silly and sullen;) . See Mr Rollings for lessons in sales (or even shit for free) subtlty.
What you need to do is post a something fascinating about say, Maziacs, and follow that up with btw Maziacs is one of the games that is featured in my amazing speccy book... or in your case 'Maziacs is also one of the games that can be played with using the free hardware I am giving away in the sales forum."
Mr Rollings sells out of books.
Your shit is given away for free.
You can give no end of shit away for free using this method.

Now how about a nice thank you to MH for providing the opportunity to give your stuff away by creating this community...
(advance apologies for the suggested arselick)

Seriously (a first for me, I know) I sometimes wonder why Martijn bothers. He spends so much time and effort on WOS, and gets so little back, and every so often something like this happens. Alright, so this is minor, but there's always a McKenna or a Gamestage popping up and having a go at him or WOS.

We're extremely lucky to have WOS (look at the major sites for other computers and consoles, none I've seen even approaches WOS) and it's all down to Martijn's hard work and co-ordination of others' work, and some people just seem to criticise destructively, with no effort to check their accusations first.

I'm just glad he's so obviously devoted to the Speccy, or he'd probably have abandoned WOS years ago. I think many of us would.

IMHO, there's a good-sized nucleus of really great people that vastly offsets the minor bits of shit thrown at us over the years. Whilst that nucleus remains, I think we will, too.

I've got 4 pairs of used underpants to give away. 3 of which are mine. Do I win a prize?

Seriously. Don't feed the trolls. With underpants.

But Mr. Frobush, it's either other peoples's's'ss' underpants or your beef crisps. Out of two evils, which is the more expendable one? (I can go free-ballin' around the place for a while until they catch me and lock me up but that's not something one should 'ctually say out loud, err, I mean, err, did I just say that out loud?)

That's because the majority of other systems forums are ruined by slack mods who allow the (mostly American) techy geeks to peddle their Warez freely, and ridicule noobs, for asking a simple (but usually relevant) question until they feel they have to leave.

That's why I am not a member of any console forums, because save a handful of good helpful people on them, they are usually filled with smart arsed wannabe crackers, and nob-heads in general, who's own personal inadiquicies make them feel they have to ruin it.

true, i used to be a member of a DS forum, with the site i download games from. you can't really blame the mods too much though on it. every day there would be a new guest asking about how to run roms on a ds without even looking at the faq. and when their question was answered you'd never see them again. i suppose this site is a bit more of a nostalgic thing rather than a cutting edge technology forum. :()

Couldn't agree with you more, mate... These are the only forums I've bothered sticking with. I find that, in general, you WOSers seem like genuinely decent folk!!

Ah yes. That terrible childhood experience in a public toilet at Liverpool station. I apologise for the rest of the WOSsers being so insensitive about that?

By the way, how did the surgical extraction go?

Funny though as the original poster answered his question within his question. A bit obvious, no?

Anyway, talking of other forums (fora?) it reminds me of when I posted on Nintendo UK's official forum that I wished Nintendo had brought out the hot pink Gamecube that they demonstrated at the announcement show because it looked really nice. It was instantly seized on by the plebs "OMFG R U GAY LOLZ!" and similar, to which I replied along the lines of "What if I am gay, is that a problem? And what if I'm a girl? Had you considered that? Have you ever touched one or seen one that wasn't on the internet or in a magazine? I doubt it." I also said that I was going to report them to the mods but that I'd noticed a couple of the posters were moderators! And being Nintendo, there was no way of actually contacting Nintendo to tell them that their forum moderators were a bunch of pricks. Great fun.

I'm a straight, married male who just happens to like the colour pink. Is that a crime? :(

Must admit it surprised me when (straight) men started wearing pink shirts - it really doesn't suit them...

I don't own any pink clothes though and certainly not shirts, god, no thanks, they're awful.
I do have a habit of choosing the girl or dressing the avatar in pink in games though :) Unless the wife's around in which case she makes a point of telling me that under no uncertain terms am I choosing a girl.
