That's a big relief. I can't believe it's been 3 weeks already. Bet there's a big party going on in that house tonight.

Gonna be interesting in the next few days to see whats happened. Theyve arrested a 39 year old man.

She was hidden in the base of a bed ! I presume tied up or something. Nice job by the police. When you hear stories like this you think after 3 weeks that its going to be a tragic ending.

Yeah, it's good that they've actually taken someone in... But you know how it is, he'll get a smack on the wrist (fine & community service or short bit of bird), put on on list and sent straight back into the outside world.

I know what you mean, thats why i quite like the Sun at times, they'll generate a whole bucketful of hate for this bloke and get the public wanting him to be hanged !

One of the neighbours of the bloke who kidnapped her, she was saying hes a weird loner, had his kid taken off him years ago and kept himself to himself, bit of an oddball. Hope they gave him a kickin when they arrested him

Apparently she was found to be "calm" so I doubt she was abused, but what the fuck has he been doing with her for 3 weeks??

World of Warcraft has a lot to answer for. So addictive

Seriously i know what you mean. I mean even when he took her i'm stunned no one saw him with her or even putting into a car, taking her from his car to his house sort of thing. Sounds like it wasnt just a 'sudden' thing he did, surely he planned it well ?

Interesting case, just glad it had a happy ending (hopefully the girl wont be too messed up mentally)

Just watching some of the interviews with locals from her parents road who are obviously happy as anything. I know i'm southern but these people sound sooooo northern and something like from the 1880's ! Didnt realise people still spoke like that !

Just waiting for them to say 'down tut pit' !

Didnt realise her mum had 7 kids with 5 different fathers, blimey !

Anyone else find it interesting that she's been taken into care rather than delivered back to her mother? I also hear that the kidnapper was well known to the family - but then, it's usually someone close, isn't it?

Mind you - the fact that she appears to be unharmed and not abused is quite astonishing in itself. There's something decidedly fishy about all this, and I have the feeling that the outcome is going to be quite a surprise to all concerned...

One of the neighbours said she was very calm and didn't look upset, so did she know the kidnapper?

Nice to see someone else from Scunny in here!

Something is not right with this... Just for the record I predict the following:

    - Mother and step father get arrested
    - Everyone admits they faked the whole thing in the hope of a Maddie fund getting set up

I was thinking something along the same lines, definitely something a bit ropey going on there.

Bloody hell, that's beating even Ulrika's current score.

No wonder being a single parent is expensive if you have to build and maintain your own car park for Father's Day...

"Maddie" was a gift to the tabloids, and the rest of the news media knew a junket abroad when they saw one.

Personally I don't think that any missing non-entities should feature in the news beyond an appeals section at the end of it.

Yeah, but can you honestly see the Daily Express giving up as much space as they did with 'Maddie' to a slightly dodgy council family like this one?

I was pretty sure she'd be found. After all, she's 9 years old, she'd probably been out visiting her grandkids (ouch)..

It's feasible, if unlikely, that she wasn't even abducted, but in fact ran away from home, and a not very bright relative thought it a good idea not to mention that to anyone, despite the big manhunt.

The stepfather has just been arrested for child porn on his PC (none of the kids are from the family)....

Looks like a nonce he does, and definitely not old enough or responsible enough to be a dad, never mind a father to 235 chav brats that aren't even his.

Although if he's beast he had his pick of the litter the sick bastard!

The police havent used my special skills in the past but i always thought this guy looked a nonce and was into dodgy stuff (He cant be right loving that munter with 28 kids).

My 'spot the paedophile' technique was correct in this instance.

Granted it doesnt always have a great track record and not every vicar/old bloke still living at home with his parents/person with no top lip is a kiddie fiddler.

So i admit i've been wrong on several occasions
