I saw that album for a quid on vinyl last week. What's it actually like? Is it any good, or is it just a load of bells?

and In Dulci Jubulo, Christmas has never been the same since.

Co-incidently Tubular Bells was recorded in a converted Barn on the outskirts of the village I grew up in Kidllington (Oxford). Unsuprisingly this is also the Village the Richard Branson calls home.

There are remarkably few tubular bells in Tubular Bells (1 or 2).

This song has a blistering guitar riff that he first plays about 18 seconds in:

Funny the way his eyes goes all wide and dramatic and slighty psycho-like several times during the video though.

He does the exact same thing with his eyes several times during this performance (mime, although he's playing the guitar) of the same song on german TV:

    Quality. :D

The Original Tubular Bells was a musical masterpiece as was Hergest Ridge.

However Tubular bells II was only passible to me in my younger days when I was extremely high and thought I was listening to Tubular Bells 1, everything after that just seemed like shameless money spinning crap and Mike Oldfield ought to be ashamed for putting his name to it, the musical whore :D

Oh and what about the Blue Peter theme. Has this man no dignity?

When I finally go back to England to visit my ma, I'm stamping on all my Mike Oldfield vinyls even if they are first presses :D
