I can't stand country music, me and the missus have actually got into big fights about it, because she likes it and I can't stand the ground the dirty inbred jebadiahs who sing the unbearable crap walk on.
But Johnny Cash is an exception he goes one step beyond a country singer to a real musician as adversed to a dueling banjo who somehow managed to get famous.
I listen to country music, such as Tennessee Ernie Ford - mule train
Jackson Country Barn Owls - Bake That Chicken Pie
older stuff like that
bluegrass, blues, like Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, cajun, some jazz not much, some Rhytmn and Blues, certainly nothing masqeurading as "R'n'B" these days, folk like Arlo guthrie. Seasick Steve is awesome.
as well as stuff like Yardbirds, Eric Clapton, Led Zepplin, motorhead etc
I'm a big Johnny Cash fan, listen to him a lot.
I'm not really at all keen on the sort of country and western that makes it onto mainstream British radio and television.
Well, this thread is awesome, fact! I'm trawling through it in reverse, and it's like a WoS clip show of randomness. I skip the bits I don't like, and enjoy the bits I do! :)

Yup! 122 pages so far can't be wrong :D
It actually evolves, notice at the start it's all stupid crap like people falling off bikes, and happy slapping but by the time it got 122 pages deep it's got some really cool stuff....apart from Frobushes house music vids :p
First look at the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. To be honest, I'm still really not too sure about this film. The original is still one one my all time favorite movies (I first saw it when I as 9 or 10 I think, so you could say thta I grew up watching the series. This trailer looks OK, but I feel that my fears about a new actor in the role of Freddy is just going to cause the film too much dammage. Freddy doesn't quite look right (although, he looks more like a serious burn victim would I suppose), but his voice is just SOOO wrong. Mabey that's why (acording to early reports), freddy doesn't have very many lines at all in this film. That's good in one way as he became more of a comedy character in the later films, but even so, his voice just feels wrong.
I'm still looking forward to seeing this one though and I hope it's a film that actually makes it to my little town!

Most last Hollywood remakes are poor. Nowadays Hollywood has no inspiration. They are not better than the original, it's like a sacrilegy. Of course there are exceptions: for me, IMHO, Planet of the Apes; both versions are very good.
I have read somewhere that there will be a new Karate Kid remake, starring... Jackie Chan! Oh my God, it's the beggining of the end!!!... :-)
Others remakes for the next years: Robocop, Ghostbusters, Stephen King's The Shining... will they be successful films?
But if any of you is worried about the new Karate Kid remake starring Jackie Chan, calm down and relax : here we have a nice song by the LEGO Beatles:
Quite like remakes, often arent better than the original but as a fan of the original i always like seeing how the remake will do.
The remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacare wasnt bad at all, same for Hills have Eyes. The straight to video version of The Shining was awful, i hope a new version will do well though.
Robocop 1 was amazing, 2 wasnt bad and then it fell apart. I'll be happy if a new Robocop comes out, does so well it starts off the whole franchise again.

A few others that I've heard about are Total Recal, The Running Man and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. None of which need remaking.
On the other hand, I was watching An American Werewolf In London the other night (again, one of my all time favorite films) and I actually found myself saying "they'll probably do that bit with a little more gore in the remake!". And then I thought, are they remaking this and why is it taking them so long to do so?
The Planet of the Apes remake didn't bother me at all as I never liked the original films anyway :-P
