R.D. Foord Software

edited April 2008 in Infoseek database
Does anyone know more about the publisher R.F. Foord Software?
None of the titles seem to have magazine references, and as a consequence, I have no idea how the titles were published (commercially, freeware, etc).
Any information would be gladly received!

Within the TZX 128 Music + Carols there's a loading screen on Side B
    with the following message:

    "Merry XMas-'86
    To Norman, Many and family.
    From Rodney, Better and Girls."

Could the first name be Rodney D Foord ?

There's a REM statement in The Baron that says "Magnetic Magazines",
a google search indicates a possible tie between teh 16/48 tapes,
might be some more stuff in there.

Numbers by R D Foord contains another reference to Magnetic Magazine with an '83 date attributed to it.

I've got the vast majority of the tapes in my collection, a couple were traded to a private collector last year.

The whole lot came to me in an ebay lot a couple of years ago, the tapes themselves look like master tapes to me, most have specially done inlays and look like homebrew, although they are professionally done...

Other than that, I've no idea whether they were published, sold via mail order or just given away to friends. Who knows!!

3 of them so far have a reference to Magnetic Magazine, could that be the name of 16/48 before it was called that ? Or Perhaps Mr Foord wrote games either for mail order or for these tape magazines.
None match the current 16/48 indexes though.

Still not much more google info.

Infoseek thinks there's a relation as well :-)
Magnetic Magazines Ltd was the original publisher of 16/48 Magazine, until Argus Press bought them.

The titles of Mr Foord never appeared on any of the electronic magazines, as far as I can tell. This is getting more intriguing than I imagined!
