Worst loading screens?
For me, I think that it's a tie between Star Trek 3050 and The Star Fly. The first, because it looks like a four-year-old drew it in MSPaint, and the second, because, well...

His arm looks like its coming out the side of his chest rather than the shoulder

I remember looking the the loading screen for Jet Set Willy 2 and wondering 'what the hell is this all about?'. It looks like Willy is on the moon or something.

You gotta ask Why did they bother?
They were mostly 16k games and you typed load""code so most of the loading time was taken up with this boring loading screen.

Of these the last one is easily the best - as you have the added interest that Caterpillar is spelled differently on the inlay to how it is on the loading screen!

Or it could have what looks like a little deflating black balloon on top of one of two badly-rendered sanddunes in an otherwise empty scene.
