Next he'll produce a fact from anywhere on earth to say there's more Sinclair scene activity than Commodore scene activity. Oh, wait. No he won't.
Gawd you are thick!! If you woud have read my earleir posts I actually showed some proof that there was probalbly more Commodore related activity on the net than Spectrum.
Could someone with a login at http://www.cpczone.net/ post on there some inflammatory comments and direct them here so we can get this sorted out once and for all!
Hmm, don't see a lot of point. A quick check reveals there are 9 people online there at the moment and 7 of them are bots...
It's probably awfully hard to quantify which machine is more "loved" or not.
What I measure (if "measure" is the right word considering I have no hard numbers on me) is the variety of meaningful/active websites plus various projects. Merely talking/mentioning the C64 isn't enough (so forums/newsgroups are irrelevant, as are GoogleFights), it's the amount of people *doing* stuff that is significant to me, together with the extent of what they've achieved.
And as I said, I believe that by that metric, the Speccy retroscene is more active and developed than the C64 retroscene.
Feel free to go out, get the hard numbers and go all Peter Snow on my arse about it, but you have to realise that, of all the opinions I have, that's one which I don't really care two hoots about getting disproven. It's just a piece of trivia to me.
All I'm really interested in is what's in the C64 retroscene but not in the Speccy retroscene simply because I'm looking for ideas as to what to do after the documentary's done.

Dig for nosegold, then make a documentary about all the different kinds of colours, textures, etc. Man, that's years of research for you, right there, that ought to keep you occupied for a bit.
*If you find one shaped like a person then you can get lots of moolah for it on ebay!

I'm sure Nick can find something a little less niched...

Don't forget the speccy kid with the Guardian reading parents you need a BBC owner to run to teacher when it all boils over.
Guys, I apologize for DanSolo making C64 fans look stupid. We all know that I'm a C64 fan, and I'm not stupid, right?
Right?
:(
The temptation to say something horrible was almost too much but no you're not, even though I think we may have disagreed in the past, it's all in good spirit usually :D
I dunno why you feel you have to apologise for him though it's not you who's being a dick?
soz had to jump in, never got to call someone a gaylord afore, can't run that fast ;)
You should try it on one of the charvas that hang around outside the local drink shop.....you may have to be ready to prove he's a gaylord though
By typing your own explanation you have some credibility behind your answer, by quoting wikipedia you're just asking to get flamed.
You can't expand on the 'colour RAM' because you have merely cut and paste from wikipedia instead have an understanding.
If you're going stand there naked before us expect to get ridiculed...
Absolutely no answer.
I'm not surprised, for all DanSolo's posing and posturing there was no real substance behind his comments and when asked to backup a statement all he can give is silence.
Lockett, I feel sorry for you. At least you're a decent guy. (for a Commoder )

Ulike you I have formed a balanced view on this.
Ha ha! Look at the size of DanSolo's floppy drive ... and that's even after he made a few modifications of his own!
Yup and even with those mods it's still floppy.......better open a one of those random e-mails about blu pills :D

http://cgi.ebay.com/Commodore-VIC-1540-in-PRISTINE-condition-IN-BOX_W0QQitemZ110253617770QQihZ001QQcategoryZ4193QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
EDIT: (even though its for the Vic-20)
It's no longer in PRISTINE condition ... the seller opened up not only the box but also the drive!
lol, a 22 character wide terminal? now that's just silly
nah youz alrite. ;)
Sounds like a logical trap to me! :-P
I'm off to the BBC Micro forums to moon at them.
We need a poll to see who gets to flash which forum.
You're right. But whoever has the dubious honor of having the fattest, hairiest arse should really get Lemon64 though.
Someone else is going to have to judge that one. I've got other things to do.
Or at least I'll find something else to do anyway.
that would be the nail in the coffin for wos, if a lemon member visited while we were comparing pictures of our arses.
(martijn my membership card is in the post)
Now this post, made my night. I salute you, sir!
