Ho hum, a "SINCLAIR CLASSIC COMPUTER" is for sale down in this neck of the woods - starting bid is NZ$400 - that's [still can't find pound symbol] GBP 158.50. What's so special about this? Nothing.

If that speccy goes for that , im selling off all my kit and buying a speedboat :-P

Not worth it. You don't even get a copy of the ultra R@RE Make A Chip with it. If it was included, then maybe that would justify the price. *shakes head*

Hmm, in retrospect this might be my fault for inflating the NZ market price. I did pay $403.60 last November from this site for a Spectrum...

But this fella has forgotten to include in his auction an original Issue 1 Spectrum (16k) with an ELR 64k bank switched expansion, Interface One [Version 1], 2x microdrive units, Sinclair scratcher printer, 72 microdrive cartridges and, oh I nearly forgot, a ZX80...

Hmmm thats give me a thought....with the new ebay rules about sellers not being able to leave negative feedback, will this increase the number of non-paying bidders....

Seems if you can't get neg feedback you could just bid and then not bother paying...I know they report you but I think it takes like 3 reports in 6 months to get you kicked or something.

Give the seller a break, you also get the nice brown box that he uses to keep his cassettes safe and sound. So those rare Hungry Horace are in nice condition and still load actually load up. You know what NZ poeple are like, he must be into extreme sports, needs to sell to fund for the ultimate rush: trying to get a Sinclair QL to output a good signal on his plasma.

Prices for Speccies down under will make the average UK bod wilt, coz they are much less common down here. A battered old 48K machine that would struggle to make a fiver on ebay.co.uk will often go for 30 to 40 quid in NZ. In Australia its worse as the speccy never caught on here at all. The ones I see from time to time on ebay.com.au go for very silly money. Silly enough for me to buy one in the UK, pay the 25 quid postage and still come out with a bargain.

If its a mint condition 128K then its silly money squared!

Yeah but that's like 2quid in GBP

Aah, that's brilliant. I can cut 'n 'paste to my heart's content now. Incidentally, if you have any spare ?50 [do you see what I've done there?] notes, specifically the one's with a picture of the Queen [monarchy only, not the band], pinkish, and shaped like money could you post them to me via snail mail? I could swap you some brown pictures of the recently deceased Edmund Hillary. ;)
