Genius!

Bit cruel at the end, but I can't say the girl didn't deserve it.

Remember kids - cheaters never prosper! :D

Usually in TV land when we pre-record something a person signs a legal release to say the production company can use the footage in the future. Not sure about things that are live...

Edit - Or I could get of my arse and work it out myself... Broadcasting in the UK is regulated by the Office of Communication (OfCom www.ofcom.org.uk). Broadcasters use the 'Ofcom Broadcast Code'. Section 8 of this code covers privacy and probaby covers this said radio show and can be found here:

    http://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv/ifi/codes/bcode/privacy/

Edit 2 - Ahhh it was not live.. A listener complained to Galaxy FM and got the following response:
    Dear Mr xx,

Thanks very much for your enquiry regarding the feature "Danny Dumps",
broadcast on December 22nd last year.

I'd like to assure you that all of our production and presentation
teams are very familiar with the Ofcom Code, and as such always obtain
the consent of any individual broadcast on the station.

The phonecall featured in "Danny Dumps" was a pre-recorded item, that
was not played out until express permission to broadcast was given by
all parties involved - therefore not breaching the Ofcom code.

Thank you again for getting in touch, I hope this has eased any anxiety
the piece may have caused you.

    Regards,

    Brent Tobin
    Programme Controller
    Galaxy Yorkshire

    Hmm interesting....

Well, it neither comfirms or denies that the radio item was staged or not. I'm of the opinion it was staged. I'm sure that girld would not have liked her reputation tarnished so publicly.

95% sure it was staged. How would they have got the audio? People don't normally record radio shows of this type. If it is real the chances are the radio station posted the recording as they are required to record their output for compliance purposes.
